Title: indicator of reaching stress limits on A/C
Post by: iculus on June 28, 2000, 09:59:00 PM
I'm not sure how this works in real life, but is there a way (sound or vibration) to indicate that you are reaching the stress limits of your plane?  There are many times it seems that I'm diving in a plane that I'm not familiar with (most of them (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)), and a wing suddenly flies off, with no warning.

Kind of like: You're screaming in on a con's high six, then out of no where....an egg hits you in the face and the studio audience cracks up hysterically. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Salute,
IC

Are your "stress" sounds turned all the way up?

Aircraft stress sound.
If you're flying along and you hear what sounds like a moaning wookie, you're reaching the aircraft's limit.

Mino got it...My "stress" sound was hiding under the "wind" sound that I turned up because I thought it was neat (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Thanks,
