anyone watching Olympics?
Man that relay was kick-ass. Those bragging frenchies were put in their place! Broke the world record by 4 seconds!
The guy sure can swim, he did his part in the relay 1 hour 3 minutes after his last preliminary. I am actually interested if he can get the 8 medals, and I am rooting for him!

And yet they keep testing him for performance enhancing drugs after every single one of his races....
Do they want him to win at all?

French got whooped!
That's what they get for talking stuff!
-
That was the most incredible race of any kind I have ever seen!

He volunteered for that. Its a program a bunch of US athletes volunteered for. They undergo CONSTANT drug testing, blood tests, urine tests, litterally everything we can think to throw at them. Theyre trying to advocate "clean" play.

He has voluntarily been giving twice a week samples to the USADA for te past year. He's clean.
The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced the program Wednesday and said it included 12 Olympic athletes, including Michael Phelps and Tyson Gay. They are the same 12 who signed up earlier this year for USADA's new pilot drug-testing program that uses multiple blood and urine tests to establish a baseline for athletes, then compares subsequent results against the baseline.

Much of the reason for times getting faster is technique. In the BF, Mark Spitz spent a lot more energy going up than does Phelps, and Spitz was as dominant then as Phelps is now. The only reason Spitz didn'y win eight is he only entered seven.
Video, swimming channels (swimming treadmills) and other technology helps in finding the most efficient motion for the stroke.

yeah i just watched em 1 min ago win ANOTHER GOLD medal.
I say we are the best team in the pool with phelps.

Aren't there ways to splice genes now, that leave no chemical trail in the circulatory systems?

Everytime he hits the water, it's like watching a mako in a race against whale sharks.

I was watching the team race last night (Not sure which one) but they had Phelps lead off... He was so far ahead of everyone else they had to zoom out to see everyone! By the time the next two men had swum, the announcer was saying his grandmother could anchor and they would still win... And he was probably right! It blew my mind seeing that...

If you could pit Spitz versus Phelps in their prime who would win?
I think Phelps would smoke him without a doubt.

Oh yeah, in-fact they were thinking about giving him gills to breath under water, but they thought that might be too obvious.

Phelps would definitely win.
