Am I mistaken in thinking that when I read this and think I don't need a credit card to play?
"We are so confident in our product and service, we do not ask for any credit or debit card to get you going."
If this is the case should I be then asked for my credit card details to access the training section of this game??
Is this a bit screwy or am I imagining things?
-
The free two week trial gives you complete access to the game, both online and offline. After your two week trial is up, you will be prompted to enter your credit card information if you wish to continue to play.
Be warned, not many can find the will power to stop playing after the trial account. Welcome to your new addiction.
ack-ack

I still don't understand why I have to give my credit card details at this point, to use the training, so I can actually play the game, even if it is free for two weeks...

Your over thinking it, really.

I've seen games that make you give credit card info even for the free trial. So it's just pointing out that you won't have to give any CC info.
-
Hmmm. I guess I'll never know/ understand...
-
Ummmm, let's consider the possibility that HTC did ask him for his cc info before the end of his 2 week trial, specifically when he tried to access some kind of training service.
I never had to give any cc info until my 2 week trial was over.

soon as you type it in HTC are down the strip joint with a cloned card at your expense.
FREE DANCES for everyone.
-
I might be mistaken but you may be restricted from the TA so that the trainers aren't overwhelmed with two-weekers that have no intention of sticking around. Other than the TA you should have access to every other arena.
Again I could be wrong.

It sounds to me like he was marked by the system as having already had his two weeks free.
If that's the case, perhaps someone in the house already played/plays it, or he downloaded it
some time ago and forgot/just never got around to playing it...I dunno.
I do know that if you didn't get your free two weeks, a quick phone call to HTC will do the trick :aok
They are pretty good folks over there and I'm sure they will be able to help.

You are ;)
You have access to all arenas as a 2weeker. And it wouldn't even make much sense to keep some exploring the game away from the place where is questions could be answered.
BTW the "Training" feature on clipboard before you are entering any online or offline play isn't implemented yet.
-
I have had to enter my credit card details.
I cannot access the training section.
I can't get the damn plane to do anything except shoot and for the engine to fire up and shut down.
:furious sums it up for me

What training section? I hope not this one:

read the help section. should read it and practice offline for awhile before you waste your two week trial on the ground crashing on takeoff.
-
You do not have to enter any CC info until your two week trial is up. Also, make sure that when you want training go to Online Arenas, log in, and select the Training Arena as the arena of choice. There is usually a volunteer trainer :salute online to help with your questions.
If you are not getting your two-week free trial, call into the office (817-251-1540) and explain your situation. Note that you will not get a phone menu and will be able to talk to a human right away.
But please call during the day as we don't answer phones after hours.

This is a rare art-form that I hear was once called "customer service". Crikey! She's a beaut!

LOL Repo isn't it sad that more folks don't have any notion what good customer service is???

Go online and use the Training ARENA. I think that's part of the problem :aok

In my years playing Aces High I've several times called the HTC Office when I had questions. They are the best bar none.
Any questions you might have or problems will be resolved with that phone call. It's really great to talk with a human who answers the phone without listening to a cloned message Press 1 for questions about your Bill etc.
HTC is a first rate act all the way.

Dude..... The terms they use "...to get you going." is clear as crystal. To go and use the training arena, you will need to start your trial. If your trial is finished, you will need to sign up for a month (hence the credit card)
What you should do, and all new people do, is don't start the trial, go to the offline arena and fly a few weeks. get used to the game by yourself and learn how to fly. Then start your trial so you arent wasting a week just figuring out how to lower your flaps!
I still don't understand why I have to give my credit card details at this point, to use the training, so I can actually play the game, even if it is free for two weeks...
And although my 2 weeks was over 20 months ago, at that time, TA was available during the trial.

That sounds like it probably is the problem...
If so, maybe HTC could gray that out until it is implemented? You have to figure for every person on this BBS, there's another 9 in the arenas... Same concept to situations like this.
Anyway, if it is not the problem, just call them. They're good people, they'll help you out :aok

OOps.. Should have hit refresh before I replied. Was afk for a bit. :)
-
When I use to do the two week thing, I wouldn't enter in any correct details about my account until I started paying for the subscription.
-
Come on...its not that difficult.
