Title: Dear Santa, For Christmas I Would Like...
Post by: eskimo on December 20, 2000, 07:54:00 AM
A great big aircraft carrier, complete with TBMs and Hellcats.
A few fast little PT boats, with lots of guns and torpedoes.
Some destroyers and airfields that have big nasty guns that I can man.
And a new world to play in.

P.S.
I have been very good this year and have killed as many bad guys as I could.

Thank You;
eskimo

Add a decent FM for the Hawg and the niki , a believable Hispano performance (with jammings, freezings and boring outs), and realistic torque effects.

And, of course, a Fw190D9. With MW50.

Then you have my list.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

No, that would be censorship.  Just pray that the vocal minority doesn't hold true in Aces High.  Hope that hard facts and data hold true and not just someones opinion.
Hey Ram, I see you' ve had 10 sorties with the F4U-1C since the new FM, bet that makes you an expert at detecting that the FM is porked!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)  Got any flight data?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I don't question their FM's or anything else technical, just the effect they have in the MA and my mental state  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif). Oh, and the fact that they weren't produced in significant numbers or had severe reliability problems therefore didn't see much action. My last 1hr and half 2 weeks ago in the MA all I saw was 1C's and N1k's, this is no exaggeration either, I literally only fought 1C's and N1k's, didn't see any other type period. I left in total disgust. It wouldn't be a big deal, but the times available for me to fly lately don't provide me the opportunity to join Scenario's or any other historical type match up which is what I really enjoy the most. Oh well, I got my boxed sim now, and WWII Online and WB3 are on the horizon so all is not lost yet  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Flame on!

Sure I did. when I did those 10 flights it was just after 1.04 release, when I was being squashed out of the sky by even C202s (ask Citabria). So I said WTF!!! and I took off in a F4U1-c.

I killed 4 cons in a lonewolf sortie. I rtb-ed first time since the release. And I landed with half wing gone (Jihad, come and gimme a hand here   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)) and still 250 rounds to be fired. I recall it as it was yesterday.

Then I started to go after tanks and osties, and payed a lot for it, as I am hopeless on Jabo duties (not much things to jabo in a 190 so I simply dont do it)... and then when I got bored of the lazers, I was back into my 190.

Is not much...but what I say about Hawg's FM performance is from things I see fighting them. And in fact if they fix the Uberhispanos I wont care so much about the FM. Some non-losing E reversals aren't going to quit my sleep...but 4 proton torpedoes killing my engine at 800 yards from a DEAD SIX position (guess the round came tru all the plane, right?...of course the hispano has power for that and more   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)) will.

Will you or Jihad be willing to show me that you can shoot me down after I remove 1/2 your wing in the TA?  We'll do alittle experiment, I'll take off 1/2 your wing, then you reverse on me and try to kill me.  Game? Ram? Jihad?

Rip, I've personally flown a 1C around in big lazy circles with half a wing(or in other words visually half a wing actually the tip shot off, no aileron) left and got kills. Trick is to not get shot down first. It flies quite well, or better than I think it should, with the wingtip gone, like the P38 used to, but now the 38 is a handfull with a tip gone. I have also seen people flying around still getting kills in this 'configuration'.

I may not be able to shoot you down, but someone who shot my tip off, and thought I disengaged because I was having a hard time just flying, might ignore me and concentrate on that other con or 20 about to jump his ass, only to have that same wingtipless 1C(me  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif))come back and shoot him down. I've personally done this.

While you might simply call this dweebish behavior, and I agree, I think anyone missing the aileron and wingtip should have his hands full and be thinking about nothing else other than suriving. But that's my opinion, I don't have any data to back up my theory.

Is there ANY chance that whatever the topic is It doesn't end being a Quakebird/Quakeguns discussion?

I mean, everything has been pointed out, everything has been said. If nobody has anything new to say, get over it. Htc has the means to change bugs, if they perceive there is some. And this topic is getting boring by the minute. At least in its serious format.

Don't worry Rip.  In one year's time there will be no FM gripes, 'ubergun' controversies etc for you to worry about.

You'll probably be the last guy online in Aces High.

Please remember to turn off the lights on your way out  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Jekyll. I'm more than curious how you can have "Aces High Training Corps"  in your signiature and at the same time post in the manner you do.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)   I don't want to come across as telling you waht to do but you may want to think about taking a break. From the boards anyway.   Just a suggestion. Not meant to be taken in a hostile contenet in anyway.
