Title: just another thing for a new president to think about
Post by: gwano on August 15, 2008, 02:42:15 PM
Whoever wins the presidency this november is stepping into a diplomatic quagmire.
With the Georgia thing, Iran, Iraq, Fuel prices and oil, a struggling economy and now this:

I don't envy that position or feel whoever wins can possibly have enough influence to affect noticable changes.

I hope I'm wrong.

On one positive note, it could mean some more jobs' in the defense industry, If we get an upsurge in Military spending. But with the new stance that Russia under Putin has taken internationally, whoever get's the office had better be pretty saavy diplomatically.

Frankly I'm surprised we haven't heard the conspiracy nuts (you know, the "Bush was behind 9/11" crowd ) claiming the fighting in Georgia is a cleverly orchestrated ploy by McCain to cinch the election.
