Just read about this today though it happened a couple of months ago.

Tony Giorgianni, who achieved near legendary status for his eponymous Greasy Tony's restaurants in New Jersey and Arizona, died of a heart attack May 28 at the age of 78.
Giorgianni's original Greasy Tony's restaurant was a cramped corner storefront at the intersection of Easton Avenue and Somerset Street in New Brunswick, although he soon relocated to a former fast food restaurant across the street. His restaurants were late-night fixtures for generations of Rutgers students from the 1960s through the early 1990s. He ultimately was forced to close for construction of a Rutgers dormitory and commercial building. "
If you have ever spent any time around the Rutgers Campus about 20 years ago.
You know "Greasy Tonys."
And possibly Tony himself
Nowadays you hear of "The Grease Trucks|" and I'll admit to eating a "Big Fat Biotch" (Skuzzy. its a sandwich name, Call Rutgers campus and ask)
And loving it.
But it still isnt a "Greasy Tony's" trashcan (drool)
Forget your Philly cheese steak sandwich. These things were steak Hogie sandwiches.
And the sausage sandwiches were better even then the ones you USED to be able to get at the Jersey shore(they just dont make em the same)
Like the BFB it was quite an accomplishment to be able to finish a whole one.
A Philly cheese streak is a wannabie compared to these things

If you looked at it you would say "They actually serve food in there?"
But they made the best hogie style hot sandwiches ANYWHERE period.

I was pissed when Rutgers took over and forced him to close.
The place was an icon.
And just as the sign said.
"No charge for extra Grease"

The fad caught on at Rutgers, and sold a couple of different franchises up here at Penn State.
We currently have 2 "RU Hungry?'s", and one Mr. C's sandwiches. The nastiest looking things I have ever seen...... But SOOOO freaking tasty when I was bombed.
I was a personal fan of the "Fat Drunk" at RU (rutgers University) hungry? It got to the point where I had to physically restrain myself from buying it when I wasn't smashed.

They are a late night food source at the U of A in Tucson.
