Title: USB Stick & Throttle / Gameport Rudder Pedals Question
Post by: TequilaChaser on August 16, 2008, 10:53:14 AM
Rolex told me that I could not use the Gameport type CH Rudder pedals with the USB Fighter Stick and USB throttle......

I did not ask him though, if he meant using them in a dedicated gameport ( like on a sound card )  or if that included using a Gameport to USB adapter to convert the Gameport pedals to an USB connection type.....

I don't want to go out and buy the adapter if it is not going to work......

Not to argue BUT...

Got a CH Pro USB throttle, CH Pro USB Fighterstick, hooked to a POWERED USB HUB, and a CH Pro analog rudder pedals ( I don't like the CH Pro USB Pedals I have! )  hooked to a CH Pro ANALOG Fighterstick through a Creative sound card gameport.

AH SEEMS to accept this set up NP?

BUT thinkin real hard about buying that gameport to usb adapter!

It should work okay with a USB game port adaptor, however, you may run into some troubles in calibrating the rudder pedals in Windows.  The calibration routine calls for pressing a button on the joystick to advance to the next calibration stage, obviously the pedals don't have one.  Clicking on 'Next' essentially skips the current calibration stage and won't safe the calibration data, that is why you never click on 'Next' when calibrating.

You may be able to find a small program that will allow you to calibrate the pedals by themselves, I have seen one in the past but I can't recall the name or where I found it.

I've used my CH analog pedals connected to a gameport - USB adaptor and they work fine.  They calibrate fine in winblows and slow up as a USB Adaptor.  You just skip through until you get to the Z-axis and everything will be fine.  In AH it is detected and calibrated as a USB ADAPTOR also.

All the Best...
