Nice.
Do try using the 'Z' key when doing screenshots, it eliminates the 'fisheye' look. :aok

I took a few. Here are a couple shortly after take off. Each one of our flights took a different skin.

The last one is the engagement we had with some FM2's. They had alt, but we had numbers and the tide quickly turned against them. The picture is of the last FM2 at the top of his zoom with several hot on his heels.

Nice Screens!

One of the things which was really cool about DGS was the combat reports the Allied pilots did and posted after each frame. I have gotten into the habbit when real life allows and now post these for JG11 in our forum. Last week as I was the JG11 CO in Stampf's absence he suggested I post the debrief. This week it is more of pilot combat report as Stampf was leading the Gruppe and I was only a Staffel leader. All shots are 1920x1200, saveas to view full size as HTC reduces them.
We upped with 14 KI61s.

At one point a low dot was seen intermittently and this proved on the film to be a FM2 smoking RTB from some encounter.
We scouted for the CV in 11,14 and found her steering a straight southerly course in 11,14,7,3.
After reporting it in we started orbiting the area and found some FM2s which engaged in dribs and drabs. At this same time Tuxc reported bogies at his 8oclk. Stampf lead his Staffell in on the FM2s and I called for Tuxc to check the rear bandits while my schwarm held high. The rear bandits turned out to be the KI-67 strike with it's attending A6M5s. Strangely they were coming in from the NNE.. :huh Anyway..
More FM2s dribbled in and Frodo called out one going below me. A word here if I may, I have been flying cartoon planes since 1991 and I have had some wonderful wingmen, Thud and Winchester "Lets blow through them" :rofl (sorry, old joke between us) and and I have yet to find a better wingman than the SturmHobbit!
I dove on the FM2 and knowing the scarcity of my 20mms held fire until I was sure of a shot.

We climbed back up and it was about this time or shortly after that Hobo got in a spot of trouble. We saw some low dots NW of the squadron. It looked like Hobo had 2 or so on him, and Frodo and I dove down to clear him. We dropped fast as it looked 'bad'.
Unfortunately I was unable to dissuade him with the hits I landed and he blew up Hobo shortly after the screenshot.
This was shortly after T+60.
At this time most of us began to climb out but the entire Gruppe was lower than we should have been. Top cover is really a must in this sort of event, but Frodo and I had to try and save Hobo as we were nearest. Undoubtedly the bad guys had warned returning A/C that there were enemy near the CV. As if in a bad movie from the west came group of 9 F6Fs at 16k. In hindsight I wonder where they had come from. I doubt they were the returning strike, they might have been CAP from the southern CV76 which had been sunk.
Most of us were 10 to 12k at this time and the F6Fs were definitely interested in a bit of a furball. It was an uphill fight but eventually it became an even fight height wise as most of the F6Fs burned their advantage.
Things did get interesting and a few of the Gruppen got too close to the ack as the F6Fs ran to the fleet when things went against them. In fairness they may have been low gas or ammo but none appeared to be battle damaged.
I attempted to get a report on the followup strike but had no luck on any assigned channel.
More F6Fs engaged in dribs and drabs and Frodo and I took on two of them. Frodo shot one up as he went over him by pulling into him. That guy ended up on the deck deadstick. I called it and broke off, but the Stompenleader said that we should not allow him to ditch. So back in I went after Bubi made a pass. I got good 20mm hits and he blew up. TheBug was right behind me to assist. ;)
I ended up on one which in my 'stinginess' with the 20mms I was unable to get a good shot on. I pumped some mgs into him as he evaded and when I got too near the fleet I broke off.
Just then a rearmed F6F dove down on me spraying bullets like a good Ami fighter pilot. :lol The original F6F started to join in but then he turned for the CV and evidently wiped out landing as I got the kill.
I was able to avoid most of the 50cals, but he had position on me and one burst took out my port elevator. I started slowing down trying to draw him into an overshoot while scissoring.
I was able to generate a 60 knot speed differential and cause the overshoot. I turned into him and got a good crossing shot on him. Strangely I wasn't so worried about my 20mm count at this point! :aok
(http://www.51hangar.net/JG11/0815_scissors3.jpg)
Frodo arrived soon after and blew him up in one pass.
At this point we disengaged and RTBed. Radio traffic indicated that a three Zeke strike of "special attack" planes were inbound to the enemy CV and reports indicate they did succeed in sinking the carrier. (Banzai! ;))
Unfortunately I wrote my KI-61 off landing on the dirt strip when I ground looped it fighting the missing elevator, but I was able to walk away from the wreckage. She had served me well with 7 kills over two frames, but I am sure the CiC will provide me a new one next frame.

Great AAR as always Fencer.
-
Flatiron I simply start the Aces High film viewer and when I find a shot I want I adjust it (zoom in or out, chase, or external view, etc.) and click on the "full screen' button. Takes a moment or two to render and you have it full screen. Also I usually take icons off, but sometimes not.
Once it is full screen I simply press the 'PrtScn' button on my keyboard (that takes a screen shot of what ever your viewing) and then paste that picture into Paint Shop Pro. :) At that point I save it into .jpg and you have it.
Pretty easy to do. PM me if you have any more questions.
Great pics and AAR Fencer. :aok

Thanks. I would also recommend you use the 'Z' button to get rid of the fisheye look in some screenshots.

Z button? Lost me Fencer. How do you do it differently?

Flatiron I simply start the Aces High film viewer, hit then 'Z' button to remove the fisheye look and adujust distances from the planes with the [ ] keys, and when I find a shot I want I adjust it (zoom in or out, chase, or external view, etc.) and click on the "full screen' button. I have always been told to do it this way. I think it looks better, your mileage may vary.
Cheers
[edit] And its such a pretty plane :rofl

Interesting.
I see what you mean. I had to go back and forth a few times, but I see what you are talking about. I will have to play with it. I hate that 'fat tail' look when I take some screen shots near the tail.
Thanks for the tip. :aok
