Hi, ive searched through the Help forums and Tech forums and despite one link which didnt work, I cant find a solution to my problem.
I have a Thrustmaster Cougar Hotas Stick and Throttle with Simped Vario Rudders. They show as working fine in the hotas program outside of the game and with a profile downloaded, I can get the buttons on the throttle and stick to work in game (example I can open maps, chat buffers etc).
For whatever reason tho, I cannot get the game to recognise the throttle action itself and gun my engine up and after auto takeoff, I cannot get the stick;s x and Y axis recognised so I end up splashing into the dirt/sea with no stick control at all.
Anyone experienced this and knows what im doing wrong?
Thanks.

HAve you set up and calibrated your controls in the game?
Load the game, and select the map controllers button. Select your stick from the drop down menu. Click the "advanced" button to open the graphic display, and click the calibrate button. Calibrate all of the axis you have. In the lower box, click the axis and assign them to the different axis in the game. Remember to save.

When you click on the 'Map controller's button, you have to map the selected settings, (such as to the axis on your stick and the axis on your throttle. You do that before you go to the advanced settings.
Joystick x = Analog inputs Roll
Joystick y = Analog inputs Pitch
Throttle = Analog inputs Throttle 1
If you haven't done that , then your buttons will work, but not your stick and throttle axis's.

I have the same issue. I am trying to use "Foxy" stick profiler to map buttons for commands both ingame and for use with TrackIR and Teamspeak. When I use AH to set the axis for the stick it all works now using Wabbits advice but now the buttons no longer work.
I guess I could always use the game to map all the keys because the option is there.

I found that setting up my Cougar was easy and normal.
Make sure it works in Foxy. Open it in the controllers setup and map the axes. Map any DirectX buttons (in AH) and if necessary use Foxy to map some keypresses...
Only hitch happened to me when I replaced my ageing Rudder pedals with new USB ones... it totally lost all my settings and I had to set it up again...

Jaxxon,
Other then setting the axis for your Joystick and throttle, are you currently setting any buttons in Aces also.
Did you check your buttons and axis after loading your foxy profile?
If you want, I could upload my profile, and you could use for testing to make sure you're building your profile correctly. Just post here ifluff'n ya want to try that.
