Not bad, but I think they deleted 3a: Make sure all magazines are at full capacity, and family members have undergone target practice withine the last 30 days.

Theres also a Zombie Survival guide by Max Brooks, Although incredibly stupid i found it very intertanning, interesting and amusing, i suggest you read it.

Here's a different book he wrote http://www.randomhouse.com/crown/recordedattacks/

When I was a kid we used to practice duck and cover in school. We had nuclear rations in the basement of the school and everything.

Eventually the bombs got so big, and both us and the Soviets made so many of them, "duck and cover" became kind of silly cause your dead anyways.

What's more funny is they tell you to hide under your table.. your table? :huh What the heck is that going to do against a 10 Megaton bomb?

The principles of radiation protection are simple - with many options and resources families can use to prepare or improvise a very effective shelter. You must throw off the self-defeating myths of nuclear un-survivability that may needlessly seal the fate of less informed families.

While I was in school, I did a lot of odd jobs helping friends and what not..  One of my buddies used to do custom home audio, outdoor audio and home theater systems..  He specialized in retro fitting with older homes..  This area where we were working had a lot of "old" money..  Mostly older Jewish folks or the plantation owner types..  I was amazed to see that just about every one of those homes had a bunker or bomb shelter of some sort..  I was trenching one day so I could lay some conduit in the ground for some data/speaker cables (these were the days before wireless networking and wireless speakers were standard fare like today)..  I ran into what looked like the top of a shipping container..  Did some more digging, and eventually found the top latch for the door (this confirmed my suspicions)...  So, yeah, someone actually took a shipping container and buried it, intending to use it as a bomber shelter..  The "new" owners were a younger couple with 5 kids or something..  I told them what I found and they freaked out!!  They were extremely angry that the previous owners did not disclose this...  It's strange because you'd figure a bomb/fallout shelter would be more underground..  I only trenched 12in. and hit the top of it..  Also, I'm at a loss of how you entered the thing..  Maybe there was a top hatch or something..  But yeah, I used to run into that stuff all the time while working in that area..

I agree with most of this, but what I absolutely disagree with is the cash perservation tactic.. I agree to buy everything you need on credit at the stores, but after that, I would go to my bank, close my account and get all the cash I could, and proceed directly to the nearest jewelry/bullion store and buy as much gold / precious metals that I could. Cash would become utterly worthless post nuclear war..
