It is important that some changes be made to allow a 4 engine pilot to shut down an engine and be able to operate (change power settings on the other three) the remaining engines with the throttle.
As it is now, you can't do that and it's unrealistic to say the least.

Shift #(no. of eng) to select individual engine and Shift E to select all.

I think what he is saying is for example with a four engined plane, if #1 is shot out, you can't shut down #4 to balance the plane and still maintain throttle control on #'s 2 and 3.
People have been bringing this up for quite some time. :(

Yes you can if #1 gets shot out hit shift 4 then the letter E and engine #4 will shut down, shift E and the throttle then controls all engines, ( however the first time I did this engine 2 & 3 shutdown and engine #4 started back up so I hit E again and #4 shutback down and 2 & 3 started back up ) The last time I had no trouble like that though.

Actually you can select all engines without starting them. I have this function mapped to Control E. So if engine 1 went out on me I'd...
Shift 4 and E to kill #4 engine
Control E to select all of the working engines
Pretty simple really.

falkbait, is this something you have to map? I just tried it offline. Control E does nothing to restore throttle control to those engines still running. That's the problem. You can shut down any engine you want to, it's getting control of those engines left on, without having to restart the one you shut down.
all american chicken, shift E simply restarts all working engines.

hmmm... I thought you can shut down Engine 4 in case Engine 1 gets shot dead. I think I have done this...
What I have not done is keep Engine 4 running but throttling it down without shutting it down completely...
I have an analog throttle... kinda wondering if it would work... Gonna try it out...

It is something you have to map. Back in 1.06 or 1.07 HTC threw in that little added control bonus. Go into the keymapper and you'll see it, eventually. I had to do some hunting before I tracked it down.

Yep Ctrl E is the default to reselect all engs. Like any new function it needed to be maped if you had an existing instalation.
