CV plaves really seem weak, and an upgrade to something like the hawker sea fury would be great. One of the fastest piston planes around with good armament. the Royal navy had over 800 of them. lets see this as an upcoming plane option. 460mph top speed :devil

Does it grab alt well because I want to say a better BnZ plane so we can BnZ the BNzers :rock

And every last one of them was post war.
Also, the F4Us are anything but weak.
Still, a Fairy Firefly would be a nice addition. D4Y, B6N2 or B7A1 would also be nice.

How about we work on the Axis bomber plane set first?

The F4U and F6F are two of the better planes in the game... A6Ms are the best turning...

By how? Introducing the predecessor to the German bomber we already have thats only used as a fire and forget torpedo? Make that 3 torpedos.
We'd have to create a new arena for the 111. We could call it pre-war Spain.
But hey, you have as much right as I to wish for whatever you want. :salute

thats a french He-111 ?

Amongst the HE-111 there are other bombers on the Axis plane-set than can be added to take up major gaps in the plane-set. For example:
(Forgive me for not mentioning Japanese aircraft.)
S.M.79
P.108
Do217
JU188

Sure thing. I'll take up the slack.
A6M3 "Zeke"
B6N2 "Jill"
B7A1 "Grace"
D3Y "Judy"
G4M2 "Betty"
J2M3 "Jack"
Ki-43-IIa "Oscar"
Ki-44-IIb "Tojo"
Ki-102a or b "Randy"

The most logical aircraft to choose as a German bomber is the He-177. It would provide another aircraft with performance on par with the other Allied heavies. Notice I didn't say equal to - on par with with.
The He-111 by 1942 was an afterthought, used well beyond its time and phased out by other types, specifically the Ju-88.
I know everyone wants an He-111, but I have to ask...why where they relegated to nocturnal status after the Battle of Britain in 1940? By May of 1941, nearly all of the Kampfgeschwader flying He-111s were moved to the Eastern Front, where the Luftwaffe still had air superiority.
Yes, He-111s were used effectively as torpedo bombers against convoys, but again, extended out beyond the range of land-based fighters. The Allies had yet to build sufficient numbers of escort carriers to provide their convoys with fighter cover.
So while asking for an He-111 seems like a good idea, by mid-war standards it lacked sufficient armament, payload, and range. Even a semi-accurately modeled He-111 will fall short of the existing Ju-88.

Agreed. 177 would be great. :aok
I have another idea. Any time someone tries to start a new thread in "Wishlist", he/she has to successfully complete a little 5-question historical pop-quiz first. That should minimize requests for F-86's, flying subs, Mig-25's, Membari Battle Cruisers, M-60's, anything found @ Roswell, etc. Just a thought.

...Just a thought.
Most awful wishes end with that sentence. :D

OK, then on second thought, I want the B-29. The rocket-powered one... with lasers.

Whoa, never notice the markings.

back on topic guys :lol we have the stuka, don't tell me that isn't early war :P and i agree with all these except cthulhu wants to exclude :aok
-
Actually, the Stuka we have (Ju87D-3) is wasn't introduced until after the Battle of Britain. We'd need a Ju87B for a true early war stuka.
-
Whoa, never notice the markings.
It's either a captured plane during the French liberation (like the Ju88 skin we got ingame), or a Vichy gvt plane.
-
Stukas were cannon fodder during the Battle of Britain, which prompted their relegation to areas where Germany still had air superiority. Even the D or G model, by early war standards, was nothing to get excited about.
Now...a G-model tankbuster with twin 37mm guns under the wings, that's something to think about.
I this old dude's humble opinion, we have all the aircraft we need to achieve a 'balance', meaning that in-game, from a non-historical perspective, we have planes that can do just about everything we need them to do.
So what we're asking for, basically, is eye-candy - aircraft with different configurations that can do what existing AH aircraft can already accomplish.
In looking at the AH lineup, there's only one aircraft in my opinion that can radically alter the state of gameplay as we know it, and that's the B-29. When you look at payload, range, armament, etc., it's the only aircraft not in AH whose attributes are not already covered by existing aircraft.
In gameplay, a Lanc can replace a B-17 which can replace a B-24. A Ju-88 can replace a Ki-67 or a B-25, a N1K1 can replace a P-51 or a 190D-9. Historically accurate? No. Perfect matches? No. But in the end they can all accomplish the same thing.
Everyone is hoping for that wonder-plane that will make them a better play, or make their playing experience more enjoyable. For some, it's a B-29, for others, a Gloster Gladiator or Cr.42 Falco.
Personally, I'd like to see night fighters. Maybe they only become available after certain hours on the arena clock...who knows? But a 110, Ju-88, or He-219 with oblique-firing 20mm would certainly add an element to the game.
