Im on my lunch break and looking at the boards and find out that TOWD has been banned? Is that from posting or the game also. I only marginally participate in the public boards bu this is a huge suprise to me to hear of someone actually being banned.
I am asking for an unbiased factual reason for this to happen.
I have flown with TOWD many times in the past and also fought against him in the beta days. My opinion of him would probably be biased so I will not write it here.
I am trying to find the link to the thread of the cause but cannot find it anywhere please assist.
For the record: I have made some good friends in the cyber world of this game along with alot of foes. But that helps keep the game spirited and challenging. I look forward to some feedback as to why the banning of a player has transpired. Did TOWD
commit a criminal act to a member of the game or staff? If it was that something deemed unnaceptable by the HTC staff than I need to have an idea as to what it is. Mainly so I am sure to know what not to do.
On a side note I never read the disclaimer when I subscribed. If someone can post it on the boards I would be in their gratitude.

This may have had something to do with it, but I doubt it's the whole story.

Man, I really feel wrong about discussing anyone that has no ability to defend themself.
My personal opinion is that Towd kept pushing the boundaries of simple, societal behavioral standards to the point he could no longer be tolerated. He was combative in nearly every post he ever made, nearly every online comment I ever saw him make, and nearly every personal contact I had with him. As has been stated in a couple of other threads he seemed to want to be disliked.
The only surprise I can express is that it didn't happen much sooner.

Its hard to tell... towd led the pack by such a great distance, the community can't even see who's in second.
My belief would be that is will be the next person that feels going out of their way to slam HTC in the game and in the forum just for the sake of provoking them or others. So far, towd is the only one that did it on an all-too regular basis.

If TOWD was constantly attacking the developers of the game then maybe they got fed up. I guess it can be simplified to the signs in bars and resteraunts that read something like this;
Management reserves the right to refuse service of patrons that the management deems offensive to the staff. Or something like that.
I salute the HTC staff for providing fun recreation for a fair and reasonble cost.
this game provides a great escape for me and hope it continues to do so.

While i never thought cheating was rampant in AH like was towd's belief, he was a great person to wing with, and would ALWAYS call and clear 6s, as well as being a good pilot.
Just wanna point out that while he may have said stuff he shouldnt have, he isn't a bad guy IMO.

I only flew with towd once recently - can't remember what my impression was of him but the way I view the entire situation (and ones like it) is this:
You walk into a restaurant. You are served your meal and there is something you don't like about it. Instead of quietly talking to the waitress or manager, you make a scene and disrupt the other patrons who are happily enjoying their meal. You yell and scream and people start to think about leaving. Seeing that you're hurting his business and it's reputation as a hospitable dining establishment, the manager has no choice but to boot you out with a nice 'don't come back' farewell.
The people who constantly engage each other in words and not dogfights on channel 1 and in this message board sometimes go to far and I trust the judgement of the htc staff to do what's needed. If towd being gone means there will be one less arguement I have to see (because I personally like keeping channel 1 unsquelched because there are good people throwing <S>' on it) then so be it.

Towd didn't seem this bad in the early days, I'm sure I flew with him a few times.
But the other night we got in a fight (he spit, me tiffie) and I couldn't get a shot. He was starting to get co-E so I decided to extend to do a reverse, it happened that where I headed was just south of a field, towd took this as me doing an ack drag (if this was so I woulda headed straight to the field) and he lost it on Ch #1.
Methinks he has other pressures on him...

HTC is the landlord, we are the tenants.
If one of his tenants disrupts the the living conditions of enough of he's good tenants then with due diligence he must evict the tenant in question if and when he proves his offences to be chronic in nature.
I am new to AH but not to online communities. Being new and having never known this gentleman who was evicted I can only comment in general and unbias terms.
The game play is awesome in AH but the community is always the most important and delicate thing to nurture from a business point of view. Having seen blatant offenders in other online community going untouched by the staff of that community I salute HTC for this action. In my eyes it shows a company that is fluid and active within their oun online community. Refreshing to say the least!

Ive had to deal with TOWD from back to the very first day of Aces High beta.
And I believe the FIRST thing he did after getting shot down for the first time was WHINE like a baby on channel one. I remember back when there were only 109 and P-51 on this game, and even on a 1 on 1 CO-ALT CO-SPEED, he would whine his heart out if he lost.
He has called me and many others cheaters many time on channel 1, even trying to PROVE to other people how I and others cheat. He would go on with this for minutes on channel 1 even if I didnt reply to him at all. Seems like instead of talking to you, hes trying to talk to EVERYONE else, like trying to convince them to hate you.
