I have a Plantronics headset that was about 50$. I've had problems with the mic since I got it. Last night I plugged the headset, but all the sound I was getting, was muffled. I talked to a squaddie and he told me that the sound jacks were loose.
I began playing with them today and plugged in my old headphones. They seemed to be working ok, there is no muffled sound or anything like that.
Is there a problem with the sound jack being loose or is it that that headset is no good?
Could this one be working better becasue it has a tighter fit?

can anyone help me?

Just a guess, but it sounds like either the wires for the left/right side are rubbing against one another or the speaker on the headset is blown.

I'm not familiar with this field, you could however try exchanging them for a new pair to see if that fixes the issue.
There are always products out there that weren't constructed correctly and arrive broken in some fashion.

bosco take it back and get your 50 bucks back then look for a turtle beach headset that cost you about 100 bucks and will last you a long arse time. great headsets that put out great sound.

Are these USB or green/pink Jack?

I like it, but I don't like the price. I saw a few others from Turtle Beach that seemed just as good as the one that you are giving me, but I would either need to buy the USB sound card, or get a better one than what I have.
