Ok, after flying in the 4th Frame of Rangoon my squad is hooked! :rock
So I was wondering about the who, what, when and where information for the next scenario. Does anyone one have this information? :pray

Scenario team is still passed out from Rangoon.
In the mean time, check out the Friday Squad Ops, that'll keep em fired up till the next one :)

FSO is even better than scenarios IMO. :aok

<----pokes at the CM Team...
So, when is the next one?

A better question might be to ask who is willing to step up and CO for the sides.
It can take as long to put together a Command team as it does to roll a scenario, and early COs can have an impact on which event is run. It isn't that you need to wait for the setup to be announced, and until relatively recently, the COs were involved in agreeing to the rules and setup.

What's required of the CO's?

When are you gonna quit shooting down Flossy ? ;)
now onto the goodies ... whats required of a CO
well here is the full guide http://www.electraforge.com/brooke/flightsims/ahevents_site/scenarios/co_gl_guide.htm (http://www.electraforge.com/brooke/flightsims/ahevents_site/scenarios/co_gl_guide.htm)
CO Duties
Recruit key personnel
Set the command structure
Assign people to command positions
Assign pilots to particular groups
Develop the strategy for your side
Organize a practice
Get out orders prior to each frame
Organize prior to takeoff
Lead your side in battle
thats it in a nutshell . you will get help from one of us Scenario CM's (Brooke , Newman, and Me ) we split up with one CM doing arena setup/referee , and the other two split up with one working with each CO/team .
we help you with all rules questions ,player management,Private Forums ,and moderation.
we also set up the arena for practice dates.

Just some things I would add to Roos list..
Experience
Time (I mean a lot of time!)
Do everything you possibly can to insure your side has fun
Knowing when you have bitten off more then you can chew
A seasoned player to be your XO

As much as I would love to CO for a scenario I just haven't the experience commanding large groups. My squad has four people in it and that suits me just fine. Maybe one day when I learn to multi task I will consider trying out to be a CO.. The cool thing about the last scenario was that my squad still formed up on me and waited for me to give/confirm the orders that were given to the group. So I guess in a FL capacity I am ok but not at GL or CO levels.

We'll get started on figuring out the next scenario right away. Since they take a while to select, produce, get staffed, and so on, no better time to start than now.
I will get together with the scenario CM's. If they have a strong preference for one in particular, we'll go with that. If (like me) they have a few in mind and are happy with any one of them, then we'll post the list and go with the one that seems to be most popular according to responses.
At that time, we will also start working to line up the CO's, as that recently has been the biggest bottleneck -- which is why I so deeply thankful to BearKats and LeitWolf and their teams for stepping up for Rangoon.

I hope this next scenario has alot of strat bombing. would be nice to see ponies against the 109's and P-47's and P-38's against ground targets loaded with GV's and maybe some naval involvement. would also be nice to see smaller flights of 4 - 6 aircraft flying at tapered altitudes. :aok
No matter what scenario is picked my crew will be there!
-
Ciaphas, I'm very glad to hear that you and your squad had a good time.
And I'm glad that you guys will fly in the next one.
Whatever it will be, I'm looking forward to it, too.

After talking it over with the CM team, because of the many requests that have already been made for it, and because it has been two years since it last ran, we are probably going to run Battle of Britain as the next scenario.

The 2 year cycle lives!!!! :rock

Duxford Wing RAF will be present.
This was our 1st event we joined in Aces High since we moved over from Warbirds, and we loved it. We had an average of 4 members joining each frame and I am pretty sure we will have more next frame seeing this ones success.
I wanna thank all the event personell for setting it up, and the commanders for leading their respective sides (special thanks to Roc for his unending bullocking on the range channel to keep it clear, I am sure you had a lot to put up with, with all us new people joining in this event ;)).
Some of us have EMC leading experience in warbirds, so I am sure one of us can step up to become a GL. Feel we need a bit more experience with these things, to stup up as a CO though.

:rofl Thanks for the recognition! I always get the Hard Arse assignments because I'm so darn good at it lmao
With the Close Escort role being hard locked at 2k from the bombers, I was constantly reminding people that if the bad guys were in visual range then they are in Shooting Range, so shut up and Shoot! :D

I Must caught one of yer guys sleeping, that's probably how I got my kill :rofl

Will the AH con people get to participate on different sides of this Scenario? Con is around Oct 23 days.
-
I'm not sure when BoB will run exactly. It will likely start late October or early November, but we won't know yet until we get some things in place.
-
And please keep the Euro friendly schedules! :D
