Title: VOX doesn't work
Post by: Oogly50 on August 27, 2008, 10:04:48 AM
I have my mic, but when I press F12, I don't hear the beep, and nobody hears me talk.

I have no idea how to set up VOX, as whenever I previously used it, it worked.

go into windows and run a test of your mic.  go to control panel>sounds and audio>click voice tab>then test hardware.  It will set your volumes and such. :aok

You may get more of a response in the tech support forum, but 1st make sure the key is still mapped to either channel or range under options.

As Skyrock mentioned, check and verify your mic input via Windows sound recording. Once that's done, you can configure the vox channel/vox range inputs to any choice of joystick or throttle buttons. goto joystick setup, select the device you wish to program to and key the buttons. Once identified, goto "modify" and look under the GLOBAL settings...vox is down at the bottom.

My mic works, and the keys are mapped, but there still is no beep.

<EDIT> There's no beep, but people can hear me now... problem solved.  It turns out my mic volume was almost all the way down.

Beep happens if you choose "Channel Beep" in the in-game options for voice.  You can have either range, channel or both make beeps.  I have channel beep on so I can more easily tell if someone just transmitted on range or channel.

Unless you enable beeps per above post and selftune to yourself I do not believe you hear beeps when you transmit.
