Title: A Class Act (<Salute> Snailman)
Post by: MajIssue on August 27, 2008, 01:21:50 PM
Monday night a squaddie and I upped heavy Ponys to hunt for a CV. about 7 minutes into the flight my squaddie calls me on range and says he's engaged with a 109 that knows his stuff. I drop my ord and go over to help and see a 109K ALL over my squadmates 6. I rolled in and fired and made the 109 break. After several (unsuccessful) passes, my squaddie was down and I was down to 35 rounds of .50cal... the 109 did a nifty reverse and I decided that it was time to get out of there. My squaddie radioed me from the tower that sanilman was who I was seeing on my 6. I turned for our CV and hit the WEP while watching the range close... Snailman pinged me a few times and despite a PW I typed on 200 that I was out of ammo, otherwise I would have continued the fight. After a few minutes Snailman broke, and I managed to execute a successful landing on the CV in my wounded Pony.

Class act Snailman! You have my respect sir! :salute

Not quite how it worked out sunfan... He broke BEFORE I got anywhere near my CV. My squaddie and I were within icon range when the 109 jumped my squadmate... BTW how do you pick in a heavy Pony on autoclimb? :lol

I don't see that as a pick.  I'd call it wingman tactics.  A wingman clears your six when you've got trouble.  Sounded like a great sortie Maj.  <S> Lushe (aka. Snailman)  Always a class act! :aok

Didn't he say he bugged out because he only had 35 .50's left?  Seems reasonable to me...

Actually, we get tons of respect. Want me to put some quotes/links for you that proves my point?

 :o

I don't know what to say... I feel some kind of embarrassment because my act wasn't as "classy" as you seem to think.
I do clearly rember that fight, but I wasn't tuned to 200 at that time. The sole reason I broke was me being out of ammo too

Finally a nice thread about me and it's completely undeserved  :uhoh

BTW, reading some other comments here I just want to state that I have no problems with my opponent starting to "run" when the situation starts to get ugly for him.

Jesus.. you guys travel in packs or something? Surprisingly I actually get along with steve and even skyrock but the others.... not too sure. What I meant was that the comment was unnecessary and just ended up throwing dung on the fire. Next time you might want to be less critical of a post that was meant to salute someone.

I suppose you had to get used to it over the years? ;)

hehe, no actually I had no problem with it from start. Neither do I have when someone I'm coming in with speed & alt decides to turn back into his base ack. And of course I'm occasionally doing it myself.

There is a lot of hypocrisy about those topics in this game.

Ok, so the OP gets flack for:

1. Trying to clear a squadie.
2. Running when he is out of position, low on ammo, and wounded.

Those are two ways to tell that you're reading the AH bbs.

Gee Someone gives a  :salute and it turns into a bunch of snide comments and hate fest.

I think some people needed to be loved more by their MOM's when they were young.

If "snide comments" from some other part of the country/world are all that result from a game conflict, we have nothing to worry about. Whoopdedoo.

CAN you read sunfan?????? out of ammo = can't shoot.  They were actually passing out BRAINs the day you caught the TRAIN to Moronville...

<thats a joke sunfan, in case you need someone to draw you a picture>
It's amazing how when you pay another player a complement there are persons that are so unhappy with their lot in life that they feel the need to pass the grief around!
