Heh, poor GT-R..now it's been spanked by 2, count 'em, 2 obsolete American rides.

mg you must be slipping these days, I count on you to keep us up to date on all things GT-R. I can't believe you forgot to post this. :noid :noid :noid

Heh, if you think that GT-R was stock and had no factory support...you are indeed naive.
-
The GTR that ran 7m 29s driven by the Nissan GTR chief test driver was a standard model running on standard tires.
Whats the sticker price for a '09 Viper ACR?

That's not what I've heard.
But if that's what you believe, ok then.

Ohh noo they built right on an assembly line along side the sentra and maxima.
LMAO must be tough to be a fan boi, ehh mg?

Also, if you say the GT-R was "bone stock" driven by a Nissan chief driver, then so was the Corvette ZR1...which still beat the GT-R..even without all of the high tech gadgetry.
When you're running top times ever at the 'ring, price has no bearing.

Motor Trend magazine recently took the 2009 Dodge Viper ACR out for a test-drive, and man, what a ride. Here’s an excerpt: “Are you muy macho? Sure? All right, then. Come on in. I just spent some serious wheel time piloting Dodge’s ultimate street racer around the hills and curves of Central California, and I’ve gotta off-load some adrenaline. Excuse me if I foam at the mouth. The Viper ACR will do that to you. Everything about the ACR leaves you breathless: the ultra-quick steering, the crushing acceleration, the suspension’s piano-string tautness, cornering transitions that make you feel like you’ve fallen into a pinball machine. The Corvette Z06 cannot duplicate the ACR’s electrifying race-car moves (we’ll see if the new ZR1 can defend its little brother’s honor). Nissan GT-R? Forget it: The Viper ACR will leave its solenoids and software bugged out by rubber dust. Porsche GT-2? Getting warmer, but Porsche’s masterpiece (at twice the Dodge’s $98,110 price) plays by Marquis of Queensberry rules. The ACR is strictly UFC. Dare to get in the ring with it, dude, and you’re going to get pummeled. I haven’t driven another car in recent memory that’s felt so utterly brutal yet so unfailingly honest. You want speed? The ACR delivers it like French roast coffee administered via syringe. True, with its adjustable KW shocks and tunable aero bits, the ACR really is a ringer, a thinly disguised race car. But, hey, the DOT says it can play in the street with everything else, so fair is fair. I’m keeping a record of my Viper ACR drive in my personal journal. It’ll be under the heading, ‘Cars I love that make me feel like five minutes ago I said something stupid to Mike Tyson.’”

You are comparing 2 higher variants of C6 and Viper 3.0 against base GT-R. Apples 'n oranges.
You are quick to judge the R35 GT-R was "spanked" when it has not yet released V-spec I and II.
If the goal of 2 $100k + higher mark/variant cars was to "spank" a $70k base car, they did their job :aok
I've seen the previews of how the V-Spec (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdwfWyKwdPw&fmt=18) would perform, and it looks promising :aok

Actually, YOU compared completely different classes of cars with your original GT-R post when it set the record at the 'ring. I pointed that out to you and apparently that didn't matter. But now you're going to use that argument that you previously dismissed against me?
BTW, in case you missed it, the ACR is under $100k. But I don't think that matters one hill of beans when you are talking about the fastest times around the 'ring. At that level of performance the only ones worried about price...are the one's that can't afford them.

I'm sure they give this a hiding when the current season restarts in October
That's not what I've heard.
But if that's what you believe, ok then.
Actually I read that in Wheels magazine, and the V Spec mules on slicks are supposed to be close to the low 20's
Either way i wouldn't have either the Datsun or Caravan...I've always prefered Rosso Corsa on my (dream) cars

When those are as fast as this thing, let me know...

Viper ACR variant may be the last car we'll see as Dodge brand.
Looks like Chrysler is selling away the Viper brand :noid
