Rumour has it that there are other planes in this sim.
Haven't confirmed them in MA since 1.04 though.

StSanta,
This is retaliation for the "overmodeling"
of the 190 in all susequant versions of AH. You pick which variant you like.

hehe minus...sry I couldn't do more for you last night.
Minus and I seemed to find N1k's coming out of the woodwork up north last night.
He had 2 on him...I nailed one...and was trying to get the other...I was 2.5 or so behind and slowly gaining on deck. A 38 came down behind and was around 800 yards from me. Really no choice but to pull straight up (me G-10). By this time the N1k was turning around and the funny thing was that he actually turned....zoomed up and beat the P-38 up that was on my tail.. After that they turned and chased down minus again....God I hate those things (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

the n1k2 should have the same disadantages as the yak in a dive since it weighs only 7000 or so lbs
yet it out dives p47s with ease
this is the one aspect of the n1k2 that seems like total B.S.
its dive performance is better than the heavy fighters and it obviously turns better than them and outclimbs them
even at 20k the n1k2 is still better than the true high alt fighters

Dive acceleration at low speeds is more a function of thrust:weight ratio than anything else.
It's only above the aircraft's maximum level speed at the current altitude where a heavy plane has an advantage.
BTW Normal loaded weight for an N1K2-J is 8818 lb. Dynamically it's a lot like an Fw 190 with more wing area and an extra 200 hp.

more wing area and more drag

Of course - hence the lower top speed.

Hi
I call version 1.04 of AH "THE DAMNED SPITFIRE GAME" It just favors the turn and burn type planes too much cuz they can all those previously stupid things like endless turns and snaprolls without penalty. The N1K2 is a monster if flown well and even I had a bunch of multi kill sorties in it. I think it all has to do with the new E retention in turns. In its attempt to improve horizontal turning the new FM lets the planes keep E in turns so well that they can immediately use it in the vertical and outzoom even someone who had just zoomed and not turned. Basically there is little penalty to the TnB Spit type planes for endless turns cuz they keepe E for the veritcals far too well.
