Title: Any suggestions to get my mic working?

Just last night i found out my computer had a bad virus. I had to wipe out everything in my computer and start over from scratch. Ever since last night my mic wont work.! So does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get it to work!? Thanks all     :rock  :salute

From your desktop:

Right click volume control icon on your task bar (by the clock) , then click volume control,

click options,then properties,then recording, then make sure mic is enabled, now recording properties is shown, click advanced for the mic, click boost
