Thats what I should of mentioned...a cardbus card..and recommendations. 

I would rather not take apart the laptop to install a sound card.  Just one to stick in the pcmcia or whatever they are called on laptops.  Just a halfway decent card to stick in the slot but dont want to spend more than $60.

Also just out of curiosity how are the USB ones?  I see creative labs makes a surround sound 5.1 that connects through USB.  I have a feeling they arent as good as a pcmcia card but just curious.

Keep in mind that each item connected to USB starts eating away at the available speed of the USB port and eating away at CPU usage. And a sound card will really bang away at both.

The fewer things connected to USB the better.
