Title: perk transfer..
Post by: uberslet on August 30, 2008, 02:09:19 PM
i got an account i no longer use, and well, i got thinking. if you had an ccount you no longer use, wouldnt it be nice if you could transfer your perks from that account to your currently active account?

no. It will just allow hackers another way to... well.. hack.

Do explain titanic.

I don't think that will ever be allowed, as there's some loop holes, basically where a guy can change his names and get all his perks back.

Let's say some account gets hacked, now, as of now, there's no real point in hacking because in AH, there's no level-up, there's no disadvantages at being a 2-weekers and a 5 year veteran. With the addition of "perk transfering", there would be a point in hacking, because you can steal the other guy's perks.

*Hacking for MA online play is basically useless because you can just cancel the subscription.*

titanic iv been playing 6 years now..

i think this is a good idea because there are times i leave the game and i have like 100k perks in each set.

well i could give these to my closes friends and let him waste them.

i am all for this.  :aok

the only reason i can see these people or anyone to say no to this is because they dont have friends that have alot of perks and they feel it is unfair that they dont get any..

here is my answer to yall that think this way.

Go out there and kiss some Butt's and make friends with someone that has perks. OR !
or you can learn how to fly and not get shot down and earn your own perks.

that is all  :salute

Excuse me?   I said NO and I have PLENTY of perks to spend.   I EARNED THEM, they weren't GIVEN to me.    I have plenty of friends that play this game and I don't need their perks, they know this as much as I know it.   I'm friends with them outside of this GAME.

About your post now.    You contradict yourself between your post.    In the first sentences you are chiding folks like myself that said "No".   Then you do a 180 in your final sentences by saying "Learn how to fly and earn your own perks".

Transferrable perks would simple invite all of the Chinese game "farmers" that run rampant selling online commodities in other games.  You think there are a lot of HOtards now?   :O

Erm no. Before I took my hiatus from AH I was flying the FM-2 most of the time. That ac gains perks damn quick. Also since I prefer ac like the FM-2 why would I need perks?

the LCA has talked about this on our channel for a while becue i started up agian in january and i have very little perks but my friends have said when we do like tiger raidss i always end up taken a sherman ofr a pnzr or a 34 becuase once i get enough for a tiger i usally get 1 and die so i have to start over again to get gv perks and when we do 262 raid i take an la7 or a mossie to try and keep up so i say  :aok yea hackers may try to but so what if a hacker hacks an account just leave it alone becuase you shouyld make it so you have to come up with a pin of #'s only so you and only you can send them

I get it.   You're saying if you create "a shades account", you can transfer your points.   Absolutely NOT.   You wanna hide behind another name, build the perks back up.    This ADD type behavior of running through handles needs to be slowed.

Again.    NO

why would i need a shade...my dormant account, ubercrew, has some perkies on it....y waste those perkies with them bein dormant? they can be used, but to login to the account just to use the perkies, whilst making people thinking your a spy? i think its not worth it.

jebus. Aces high is gonna turn into RuneScape. one person make 5 accounts. a wizard accout, a strenght account, a attack account, a arrow thingy account and a praying one. but heyyy! Aces High has Shade accounts to build up perks and a account u piss people off on 200 with. Why dont you just leave the perks u got on ubercrew and fly. There isnt many people with 2 accounts and i dont think HTC is gonna make some personal bank account just for ya. But a idea is a Public Bank for everyone to trade perks. Who would of thought perks meant this much!

If I remember correctly, all your stats/perks are kept in a "database" ... and to transfer your perks from one account to another would require someone in HTC to write an SQL script to transfer the information ... and I believe that Skuzzy and the other employees at HTC have far better things to do than write sql scripts (all day) transferring peoples perks from one account to another.

That is why when you want a name change, you lose all your perks. They simply delete your old "record" and create a new one ... no "modifies" to the data base ... just simple inserts and deletes.

Slap I suppose it's in MySQL or phpMyADMIN. This being, you could erase the block of numbers in the old account DB, and add it to the new one.

Correct.   Here's one to laugh about and Skuzzy could back this up, because our 5 seconds of dead air would be remembered by him.

True Recollection:

Back in July of 2004 my account was in "Collections" by HTC under my only other call sign (from Tour 27-53) "Karaya2" (Some still call me "K2" and I embrace it).   I call up Skuzzy and ask him to look up some Info over the phone.    My wife does the checkbook and was sending the checks in.

Long story short, she didn't mail a check for 3 months.   I bring the account up to date with him.   Skuzzy then let's out an "Oh man."   I lost about 8,500 fighter perks, 12,000 bomber perks and 10,500 (I remember this one) GV perks by ONE DAY.   So I told him to drop the "2".   I've had a blast without it and enjoyed "Starting over" at the bottom of the perk pool and earning them again.

Most of Rookland knows this story as they mocked me, rightly so I might add, for months afterwards.    But at the same time, I told my wife "if you lie to me again, you won't like the outcome."    I pay by CC now to avoid fraudulent claims of "Slow billing cycles and check cashing".  I didn't recognize the red flags then and it pisses me off.

I had heard at one time is was MySQL ... could be changed now ... regardless ... I think the ROI on them playing nurse maid to people who want to switch perks to new accounts and/or squaddie accounts is not worth it.

if Slap is saying no, this is all that was required, a brief explenation why, not all this "therl be more hackers" and crap. very simple answer for your thoughts....

I disagree.   When you provide an answer to a question posed to others, you SHOULD provide a reason for the "Decision".   You're now pissed off because you thought you'd have an overwhelming support of "Yes' " and no explanations of why they would have said "Yes".

But, Slap gave a good reason and you slammed him for it.   Now are you understanding WHY you posted your "Why?" post in Gen. Discussion?   You're trying to pin the blame on US, when YOU and other people like YOU are scoffing at trivial issues such as this "wish".

Keep in mind, I don't hate you, "hate" is a word reserved for no one I know of personally.   But, you sure as hell are not making it easy on us.

HTC mentioned that they wouldn't allow anyone to send / share perks with anyone. So this - most likely - won't be allowed either.

Search eBay for any sort of "currency" or (insert prefix here) Points used in most of the MMOG's out there and you will see lots and lots of people selling them.
I'm quite sure I don't want to see AH degenerate into that kind of scamfest and I'm pretty sure the bulk of the community wouldn't like to see it either. This in itself is an excellent reason to deny you your request. Put this together with the technical aspects of the situation and you can see that it's really not going to happen can you?
