Alrighty then.
First week is coming to an end so lets sum up all the things we've been talking about so far.
Issues:
#1: MOTD it's confusing. This seems like the simplest thing for us to get right. Someone on the staff needs to at leadst look at what the settings are and then type that into the MOTD.
#2 Full DARBAR is not going to work. Local radar is good enough to show people where the fighting is. Raids large enough to take a city or even do significant damage are visible from the time they launch. Not a problem on a map where the bases are close together. But with the exception of the area around A13 the front lines are at least 3+ sectors from each other on this map. So without an overwealming numbers advantage or a milk run in the middle of the night the bases are not going to change hands.
3: Invasion routes: The invasion routes are one sided. I believe Bug mentioned that their one sided on purpose. As the allies are supposed to be on their heels in the first phase. Please remember that before going into week #2. Some of their spawn points need to be cut off now, and ours need to expand.
4: Base placement. I suppose the base placement is close to historical placement. Hopefully that will advance as the weeks do. There needs to be basses in the south central area of the map. We can't hold territory with the vehicle bases. Only the airbases are secure enough to hold ground. Need an air base at the western tip of that southern chain of V-bases. Or somewhere just south west or north west of there.
I am assuming that the front lines we see today are going to move to represent the gains made during the RL war?
5: It is time to open up the allied carriers.
6: The anti aircraft strength seems fine to me.
7: Aircraft seem relatively balanced. If at least historically accurate which is about the best we can do. The allied planes at this point in the war are all more maneuverable, but the axis fighters can all go faster higher and farther faster which in the end is more important.

Also this map is made moreover to be a map for short scenarios. It has spawns to allow for GV battles but not for GV captures. The ability to put this map in an arena for an extended period of time was not the use this map was intended for.

I like the full darbar. We don't need a bunch of noe raids sneaking bases without opposition, and with an underpopulated arena it helps to find a fight.

You're just saying that because I think it should be lowered! :P

Why do NOE show up on DAR bar? Is it intentional? If one side has 20 and only 5 are up then you know something is going on. Part of the fun is scouting and finding the raid. People often make mistakes and pop up a bit too much giving it away.

You can't fly under the dar bar.
And it has max range. Since th ebases are 3-6 sectors apart, you can't get a raid anywhere near an airfield before the defenders can scramble.
And since the numbers have been fairly even neither side has been able to get a city raid through. You need a numbers advantage to take a base, or hit it un-prepared.
And the ack is fine, stop flying through it. :)

Actually, there have been several base attempts. ;)

Yes but no successful ones.

Yes but no successful ones.
True but two very close ones.

Thank you for that input Drack <S>
#1 MOTD should be cleared up now??? At least I thought it looked pretty good last night.
#2 I will have to look into how DARBAR works a bit more, but I really think the arena has to have it to keep people from being tired of chasing raids around but never being able to make contact.
#3 Not exactly sure what you were asking for here, sorry.
#4 A new map would have to be made, not a likely option.
#5 Allies will get CV tomorrow(Tuesday)
#6 Roger
#7 Thank you, glad I got one right :D
Let's see what week two brings.

I figure there's a way to turn the dar bar ... maybe down some. So that it doesn't start showing up till you're within a certain distance from an enemy base.
As for invasion routes... look at the spawn points yuo put in for the land bases. They mostly go one direction. The Axis bases can deliver GV's into Allied bases. The Allied bases can put GV's just into other allied bases.
Especially in the southern section. All the GV routes run one direction, but they don't run back the same way.

Spawn points also built into the map, sorry.

Ha, then send it back to the drawing board. :)
Or give us A9 next round. :)

Let me look at the map, it is possible to adjust the starting bases if it aids in promoting gameplay.

A quick note. Logged in Monday evening to find myself alone and up against the 78th. :salute You guys really know your stuff and very quickly took me to school, until some of Shifty's boys logged in and came to the rescue.
Never thought I'd get pwn3d in a Spit V by 5 Stuka's...... I gotta go back to flight school.......... :salute

Can we please have bases flash when the enemy is near? Bases haven't been flashing throughout the whole week and this was brought up a while ago.
:salute Bug, you're doing a great job.

yes I noticed they were not flashing also. almost thought someone was cheating but I see now.
