Title: Will we "Bitterly Hold Onto Our Guns and Religion"?
Post by: Warspawn on September 04, 2008, 04:18:28 PM
....Does anyone have the quote from Obama's fundraiser in Kalifornia?  I noticed the statement in Palin's speach last night, and the only thing I found in reference to this was the Dem's President nominee talking about his lack of support from rural voters.

Thanks!

“cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them” out of bitterness over lost jobs

“And of course they’re bitter. Of course they’re frustrated,” “You would be too"

Palin went on: “I might add that in small towns we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening.”

Palin was referring to Obama’s experience as a community organizer in Chicago before he served in the Illinois legislature and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004 as well as comments he made at a fundraiser in California about bitter rural voters who “cling” to guns and religion.

He said: “You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And it’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Obama is a racist (20 years attending Rev. Wright's "church" is no different than 20 years attending Klan meetings), a liar (had no idea the rev. was spewing stuff like that. BS),

and a socialist (look at his voting record). When he gets in front of a microphone and starts promoting himself, he reminds me of one of those disgraced tele-vangelists.

In short, the man is a shill.

Have a good one, my friend.
