Title: Needed: Socket 939 and Socket 754 Motherboard
Post by: Mr No Name on September 04, 2008, 07:03:43 PM
Storms have taken out 2 family computers, but I am certain that only the MB needs replacement.  If anyone has an old one of either of these laying around with AGP or on-board video, it would be a huge plus.  I found a couple online and I would buy them but I am wanting to go as cheap as possible, but I am willing to pay a reasonable rate.

When you get what you're after, don't forget to invest in a surge protector, or two. The Belkins I have come with a $200,000 lifetime connected equipment warranty. And for only $25.00, that's a fairly good offer. :aok

When i get back home from this trip, I can test my old Socket 939 Motherboard and check if it works.  Will be back Sunday-Monday so I should be able to test it then and let ya know.  Been in a box for a while, so here's to hoping it works, or someone else has one :pray.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.  These are not my machines but one is for my mom, the other for her sister and they look to me to 'fix it'! LOL  I pass down my old machines when I am done... But rest assured I will make sure the surge protectors have ethernet protection... that's how these got nuked.

Ahhhh.... Yes, I need to look for a DSL surge protector. Plugging a phone line headed towards the DSL modem into a surge protector degrades the signal.
