Title: 8 inchers vs PT's

I blasted a PT a few days ago several times before it sunk with the 8" guns. I would think that with a PT being wood one 8" HE round would be more than enough to kill it. I'm not freaking out about it just making note. I wouldn't be pay for this thing if I had all the grips some people do on here. And they keep paying! LOL

Are you sure you hit it?

PT's are actually suprisingly easy to destroy, much more so than any armored vehicle, including the M3.

He also could have been lagging out, you see that happen sometimes with planes that you kill while they're frozen in midair, takes a few seconds (or minutes) for the kill to register

I've noticed delays when hitting a PT in a GV and from the 5" guns.  U hittem 2-3 times then they die, I wonder if the first shot actually did it.

use the 5" guns and shoot FLAK at them thats kills them the best.

This was actually a bug supposedly fixed in patch 2 or 3, you might want to re-post this in the bug forum.

Sounds like net lag or some such, or something wrong with the big guns. I find that the PT boats take only a short burst of .50 to kill, so one shot from an 8" gun should be plenty  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).
