Title: Scoring question
Post by: Anaxogoras on September 07, 2008, 08:47:12 AM
For the sake of clarity, this question is not about perks.

Among the fighter scoring categories is Kill Points.  Are kill points affected by the ENY of the aircraft you flew and the aircraft you shot down?  What about the side-balancing ENY when one country has far more pilots than the others?  From what I can read in the help pages, it seems like "No," but it's not entirely clear (those help pages are very old).

No.  ENY only affects perks.

No.  ENY only affects perks.
ENY should affect scoring, too, but that's for another thread.

ENY effects your perk bonus.  So not flying the uber planes while your side is outnumbered will result in more perks...provided you get somes kills.  205 is a great perk farmer once the other side loses the 5-8 eny planes.

I believe the kill points are calcualted by the toughness of a plane you kill?

Example bombers will be worth more than fighters because they are tougher to kill??

Someone clear this for me as well

Killing bombers scores higher than killing fighters just because it takes more rounds to take one down plus the fact that they are larger targets, thus more bullets hit causing damage.  Killing bombers also generally raises your kill hit % for the same reasons.

being that it takes more bullets...they're technically tougher?  :)  not arguing just trying to put 2 & 2 together  :lol

That's correct, buffs are tougher than fighters.

"Points vs Enemy" are the damage points you've scored on an enemey plane.  One could score a similar amount of points in shooting the cockpit of both a fighter or bomber and killing the pilot.  One gets points for damaging a plane whether they are awarded a kill or not, though the person who scored the MOST damage points on a plane is the one who is awarded the kill.

The only modifier Points vs Enemy is affected by is the "Death Modifier", which is determined by how your sortie ends:

Landed
Discoed
Bailed
Ditched
Captured
Killed
Crashed
1.0
0.25
0.5
0.75
0.4

There's still a lot of confusion about this topic:
