Dont know if anyone else had a summer like this,(Yeah, the kind you want to
scream, pull your hair while Chuck Norris kicks you in the nads!)
Had to stop my AH2 account due to financial killers like two
vehicles needing major repairs. Trans-axl goes out on my wifes
van. A week later, our 2nd family car breaks down,(Son was using it
for work,so another necessary fix.) Younger son joins the army
with much eagerness. Did it on his own. 3rd week of basic, his ankles
get stress fractures and is now currently waiting on therapy before
he can even finish basic. Wife gets my new Impala banged into twice,
(Both times it was the fault of the other driver, but didnt keep me from
getting angry with her the 2nd time.) And to date,my budget still
isnt up enough to put AH2 back on. Been 3 months now!
Oh,almost forgot. My 12 year old nephew in Texas accidently
killed his best friend by knocking over a shotgun. My wife and I
took a Texas trip we couldnt really afford, but it was necessary.

Yeah I do. Get a second job. I was near bankruptcy about 10 years ago with a gangrene gallbladder. I got sick with no insurance missed 2 weeks of work. I went to a financial conselor. The advised me to file bankruptcy. I couldn't do it. I had to face that guy in the mirror every day. Not only did I drop my AW account I dropped the internet entirely. I dropped my cell phone too. I found 2 part-time jobs and pulled my self out of it. I drove beaters. I ate tuna fish every day. I called everyone I owe money to and told them this is how it's going to be. Today, all the doctors and the hospital are paid in full. I think I owed close to 20k for all the medical costs. Cars aint nothing.

Understand your point there, but this is more about the "Mental"
and "Emotional" medicine than financial. Yeah, cash is scarce, but
it IS recovering. Its just a slow process right now after getting hit
so hard so fast.

That happens to everyone.
I like to think that God is really Irony embodied. Your car never breaks down after winning the lottery.

Good luck.

Tomorrow is another day and your life could always be worse.

It won't change any of the things you've been through, but the only thing I can offer is that sometimes you have to sit back and list what makes you happy and what causes you stress. Then read the list and see which of those things are related to people you love, and which are mere objects you possess (or hobbies, etc).
I would submit to you that you'll be happier letting go the objects and focusing on the people you love and who love you. Consciously prioritizing things in your life in that way sure helps when having to choose between conflicting desires.
-
Hang in there. Money issues will usually work themselves out as long as you continue to get things done and keep working. You can only do one thing at a time so do prioritize. This is one of those times when character is bred and matured. You're handling it so I imagine that times will get better soon. Good luck with the Fall, since the Summer was a drag.

It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away." How much it expresses! How chastening in the hour of pride! How consoling in the depths of affliction! -- Abraham Lincoln September 30, 1859
