Ok so week one is almost done. Let's see what we learned.
Tom Brady is human after all. On this note the guy on sportcenter (Not Burman) side with this ONE injury the balance of power had shifted to the NFC? WTH? I personally don't agree, but you can argue since the AFC Powers Pretty much had a terrible week. Sand Deigo lost and so did Ind.
Favre will be fine and maybe the Jets will make the playoffs. They look good.
My Last though is.... Who will win the NFC West. Wide Open Arizona beat SF.
thoughts anyone?
-
Well I'm just happy that the Bears upset Ind tonight, we had a horrible preseason so tonight was great.
And btw it's San Diego. :aok
-
sweet Tom Brady was my first pick in my fantasy football league. And the worst part is i got a offer to trade him for Eli manning and Calvin Johnson about a hour before the game.

Well Dallas is awful tough and that might be what he was referrign to. Also Philly will surpirse this year. Giants still have strong D. Packers.. a question mark for now but a very deep, young, and talented team.
The Colts looked very ordinary against a bad Bears team. Pittsburgh is still tough.. San Diego... maybe overrated. Who else in the AFC could be considered?
-
It sure was good to see Chicago play good ball again. Orton looked good and didn't make any Grossman's...err mistakes. Gonna be a good year.

Gonna be a good year.
I'd be very surprised. Their really not very good, beyond Hester, a couple of defenders and Forte.
-
Steelers looked good and are not talked about...I personally get tired of hearing about New England...then Indy and San Diego as the only teams in the NFL that ever have a shot at winning the Super Bowl.
-
San Fran was a fluke, Arizona couldn't play their way out of a wet paper bag.
It would be nice to see them have a +500 year this year, seeing they haven't had a decent year since they came to AZ.
Next time AZ gets St. Louis garbage, make sure we at least get some free beer out of the deal. Bidwell, I'm lookin' at you sport.
:aok

Brady out for the season is a gigantic blow for NE. They need a QB that will save the season or they are chewed, skrooowed, & BBQ'ed.
I think Steve may be a tad hard on the Bears.
Hester tried a very stupid return from the end zone move that I would have benched him 3 games for that ended in a punt. Lucky it wasn't a game breaker. Manning didn't have the confidence that he normally has. He did throw some great passes, and from what I saw in the second Q--Manning could have marched it down all night but after 4 or 5 plays the Bear defensive backfield figured out what he was doing and stopped it cold.
The Bears are tougher than most think. We need a good 3 or 4 games look to be sure.

My Hawks laid an egg, not surprising since we lost 3 starting wide recievers before the season started, then lost a 4th wide reciever during the game (Burleson) and our starting RB during the game. :cry There won't be any 5th consecutive NFC West Champsionship this year...
I'm certainly glad I chose to work outside listening to the game on the radio than waste the morning watching them lose to a Bills team that will finish last in their division!
-
And you thought the Patriot fans whined after that last Super Bowl...I can't wait to hear them now.

Could be if
1 - the O line stays healthy
2 - Horton remains in a coma and forgets he sux
3 - Forte wasn't a fluke
4 - Mike Brown stays healthy
5 - Hester doesn't try to be cute and run every kickoff back ten yards deep in the end zone
6 - D line stays healthy
7 - other various things
Was a fun game to watch - Manning wasn't playing his A game - and give credit to Bear D - they had good coverage

Go Vikes! (My former team, when I was born/raised in Minnesota 1960--1978. I still hate GB to this day! ;) )

I'm a Packer fan... lived in Minnesota. I think it's going to be an offensively inept game with the exception of a big play or two caused by defensive blunders...
Go Pack.. I guess(Bitter about Favre)

The Packer may be nice on offense if Rodgers can make some plays like farve did. The vikings are gunna do alot of running but AJ Hawk wont have any of that. :rock
-
I wouldn't be bitter about Farve. He went to a better team for his last year in football. :devil

how can anyone make plays like farve does? Example yesterday he is getting tackled and still make this TD pass that had no business being caught.

With Tom Brady Out the Bills have a strong chance of finishing high in there division, from what I have seen, there defense and Offense is better than the Jets and the Dolphins.

Cowboys won....Longhorns won....it was a good weekend for football for me.

I'm out on our office survivor pool.
Can't believe the Chargers lost :furious

Damn, that sucks for you. Should have bet on my Bears.
-
cowgirls suck
jerriana jones will still ruin the team with the $250,000 seat licenses.
why and how people root for greed and scum like that I will never understand. I guess all the rich oil folks don't care to give up their money to make a slimy weasel richer.
I can sleep happily knowing MY team is owned by the community, the ONLY publicly owned team in the league, and they won without a bankroll, or making the fans pay 3+ years salary for the seat.
-
And you thought the Patriot fans whined after that last Super Bowl...I can't wait to hear them now.
Well, that's not near as bad as the Romo choked whines we hear every year
-

No, I'd say they were about equal.
Oh, and a whine has been recorded.

I have to agree with killnu...watch out for the steelers...indy is at the end of their cycle..and watch the pats implode now that they have an excuse...moss will destroy the team with his mouth from the inside out. not that i'm ever gonna give brady credit for being more than a mediocre QB on an above average team, but he is their excuse now...night night new england :lol sit back and watch the best all around QB of his class win the AFC (BIG BEN) :rock go steelers
-
I too picked Brady with my first pick in my fantasy league :cry .
What's even worse is that I'm a Lions fan and Jim Colletto is our offensive coordinator. :cry :cry

guy won 3 super bowls with a decent team, rewrote the record books with a good team, and he's a mediocre qb? with what kind of crack are you on? he's a first ballot HOFer who will be mentioned up there with the greats. roethlisberger does have a ring but so does trent dilfer and the steelers were handed that cupcake win by the seahawks and the officials. (right ripsnort? :noid)
if big ben can bring the steelers another couple championships then i'll give him the credit he deserves but right now he's just another good qb that no one will remember in 20 years. its a shame that brady went down because it would have been fun to end your season again but who knows maybe the pats will pull off a 2001 type year seeing as they've still got a load of weapons.
-
Who wants to bet that the Seahawks finish with the 4th worse NFL record in 2008, since they now have 4 starting wide recievers out (2 for the season) and lost their starting RB this past week?
-
Sure about that?
No, but it sounded good. :D
-
still have alot of weapons is correct...you just reinforced what i said. the team was being built in the bledsoe days, brady just fell into it...lets see brady do anything with average team. ben did. oh and i shouldnt mention the video tapes huh? mediocre was being nice..you could put joe theisman at his current age on that team and have equal results...broken leg and all. :lol
-
AFC -- Being a Baltimore fan I hate to say, but Steelers have the best playoffs hopes. NFC-- Cowboys looked good ,but who hasnt said that all preseason.. eagles, packs, jags, panthers there will a surprise somewhere.. Oh yeah now i get to hear about the new pats.. Still my opinion that one player doesnt make the whole team, even if he dates supermodels, and wears a red cape..
-

lol, huh? Brady fell into a great team?? What he could do with an average team?? What are you smoking??
Let's see what his great weapons were that season: David Patton, Troy Brown, Antoine Smith, Jermaine Wiggins, oh yeah, what an all pro team huh?
video tapes? Of the Rams? Someone beat you with a dope stick?
Here, read this, it's from the NY times right before the superbowl with the Rams (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=940DE4DB153DF931A35751C0A9649C8B63)
"Halfway through practice, Patriots' linebackers coach Pepper Johnson noticed something in a third-floor window of a house next to the field.
Club and league officials said a telescope was clearly visible in the window, according to a pool report, and that 15 minutes later, a person appeared at the window, and then vanished.
Officials scanned the window with binoculars, but the person never returned."
Warner threw for 367 yards, more than his average that season against a top rated defense that had names like Ty Law, Otis Smith, Lawyer Milloy and Terrel Buckley.
The Pats had 145 for the game, 53 on the final drive when the rams went into the prevent
Tell me Dr Watson, who do you think watched who's practice?
Hey, where is that great QB you threw at us in the AFC championship that year? His name escapes me
-
Sad to see a player of Brady's caliber going down like that.
It will make for an interesting year for the rest of the AFC though.
-
a library of tapes wasn't just the rams..you can watch another team practice all you want but cant tape it...how many completions did Brady make after contact from the defense? how many times was he hurried? how many sacks? receivers are a much smaller part than an offensive line...follow the progression of big player pick ups and Brady's stats...not a coincidence
-
Hi.
Cowboys?....
Bye!

What the hell are you talking about? You can watch a team practice huh?
Ahhh, no
Completions after contact from the defense?
Are you going to tell me you have those stats or even have a clue?
Big player pick ups?
Randy Moss, Wes Welker, big player pick ups, has greatest passing season in history of the game, not one of them an offensive lineman, so you just contradicted yourself
Should I give you the names of his all pro offensive line against the Rams?
Greg Robinson-Randell, Joe Andruzzi, Damien Woody, Mike Compton, Matt Light
You, my friend, are clueless
