I just saw this on UFC.com, Evan Tanner was found dead in the desert yesterday, very sad, he even said on his blog that "I plan on going so deep into the desert, that any failure of my equipment could cost me my life.", which it did end up doing, you can read more about it here.

I don't know if any of you guys saw this part of the article on UFC.com, but I thought it was sad how everyone was kinda warning him to be extra careful about what he was doing, and he thought that they were just making alot outta something he saw as being safe.
On his personal Spike TV web blog, Tanner discussed the trip and how a failure of equipment could be fatal, but in a subsequent blog, he downplayed such fears, writing, “It seems some MMA websites have reported on the story, posting up that I might die out in the desert, or that it might be my greatest opponent yet, etc. Come on guys. It's really common down in southern California to go out to the off road recreation areas in the desert about an hour away from LA and San Diego. So my plan is to go out to the desert, do some camping, ride the motorcycle, and shoot some guns. Sounds like a lot of fun to me. A lot of people do it. This isn't a version of "Into the Wild". I'm not going out into the desert with a pair of shorts and a bowie knife, to try to live off the land. I'm going fully geared up, and I'm planning on having some fun.”

Yep geared up with everything but sense and respect for the environment and I don't mean in a "green" frame of thought either.

Well the coroner has said now that the cause of death was heat exposure, something must of happened with his water supply because he was blogging alot about getting ready for this trip and the dangers involved, so I'm thinking one of 2 things happened, when he was heading into the desert he somehow left the bag with his water behind by mistake, and didn't realize it until it was too late, or something happened like the container he had his water in somehow all spilled out, or it had a leak he didn't notice until it was too late, either way a very sad and painful way to die.
They said the temp was 110+.

it was rigged.

i smell foul play
Well actually it couldn't have been any kind of foul play, or atleast it would be very unlikely, because he did text his friend a message that he was out of water and needed help, that's what launched the search for him the other day, because he was only 1 day into his trip.
