http://waugh.standard.co.uk/2008/09/brown-backs-oba.html
This endorsement from the greatest nanny state in the western world should concern every freedom loving American.
Yeah baby!

Yup. Ask Columbus. Before we were wrong, we were flat. Been on the wrong side of the ball ever since.

obama wants to be president of the world, remember what he said," first i am going to fix this country then i am going to fix the world".

Oh wow. Such impressive logical skills.

This is probably a good thing if this news gets out to the general public. We need to let every American know that the world thinks Obama should be President, that way we can make sure it NEVER happens. Most real Americans take great plessure in giving the rest of the world the finger. Perfect time to step up and make sure he doesn't get elected if for no other reason than to "tell" the rest of the world to kiss our collective butts :salute
Of course for me it's still a no brainer. It would be a cold day in hell indeed before I would vote for the guy. He has NOTHING to offer me, and his views on key issues I hold near and dear are so far away from what I believe. Needless to say he'll never get my vote.

I reject your reality and replace it with my own.

Washington Irvin's version does make for a much better story.

I don't particularly see it as frightening and not unexpected. Birds of a feather...
Besides the British don't vote in our elections.
I don't consider the UK a nanny state, yes they are somewhat caught up in European Socialism. I lived there three years and except for some minor flaws like loving piss warm beer, they're very much like us. Underestimating the UK is like picking on the skinny kid who has a black belt. You're usually going to get a great big suprise.

Religious differences will keep me from voting for Obama. He thinks he's God and I don't.

Whos? John's or Obama's?

John Obama...has a certain "ring" to it.......

Of course the whole world wants Obama to be the President.
He's going to be the modern day Robin Hood!
You know....Take from the rich and give to the poor!!

thats what this country has been doing for nearly 20 years. Taking our wealth and shipping it out. Apparently we were taking it and it wasnt ours to take so now we give it back.

When he wuz in high school, twirling the spliffs, he was known as Barry Obama.
-
Heck, I'd even endorse Obama if it'd keep him from being elected...
-
He's been in a downward trend since the Berlin speech.....prollly not best his best idea
-
It is Bad form and very impolite for and other country to endorse any candidate wether it be in the US or any where else in the world. Don't meddle.....
-
Why would any country look out for anything but their own best interests? The socialist countries of the world OVERWELMINGLY support obama. Do these countries want a strong socialist Europe or a strong America? If you were a leader of a country in Europe, would you be looking out for the interests of your country or those of a country on the other side of the ocean? Would you support a potential leader who you felt would give your country an edge or a potential leader who would work to give his own country an edge?
Why would ANY American take into consideration the endorsement of a candidate from a politician from another country? Wake up.

The neo con Bush administration has just Nationalized two large financial institutions,by injecting around 2 billion of your-the American tax payers-hard earned dollars.
A socialist solution,to a private enterprise dilemma, brought on by years of allowing the markets to take care of themselves and non intervention.
The US government propping up Freddie mac & Fannie Mae is not a socialist solution through the back door,it's a socialist solution through the front door with a welcome mat.
Are current Labour government may be as egregious as the present Bush administration, but Socialist it is not,in fact the gap between Rich and poor has widened since 1997.
The nearest it has come to it's socialist roots was taking into temporary ownership-they dare not use the word Nationalize- the northern Rock Building Society, which was partly due to the downturn in the US economy, and are own laissez-faire greedy financial free market.

As for Gordon Brown showing support for obama,I think he'd show support for a Pigs bladder on a Stick if it had a chance of getting the republicans out of office.

The neo con Bush administration did this?? Do you understand how our government works over here at all? The President didn't do it. The liberal Democrat controlled Congress did it as they are the ONLY ones that can pass the laws in this country and distribute federal funds, and it took a new law to Nationalize those two companies and give them those funds. Bush just went along with them this time because even if he tried to veto the bill, Congress would have over rode the veto and it would have happened anyway.

There wasn't many options in the matter. As I understand it, allowing those 2 companies to fail would have had huge consequences for not only the American economy but also for the world economy.

My personal opinion is if Obama gets elected, he wont actually running the country. I think the democrats picked him because he can give a good speech and looks good on T.V. I mean thats why JFK won against Nixon is what most people believe.
The Nixon part was before Water Gate :noid
-
Elfie your correct their was no option,Bush had no choice in the end.
But my point was that extreme right wing Laissez-faire Economics and Greed brought the US economy to it's current state.A small amount of regulation earlier may have prevented this unprecedented step, but for eight years the republicans and my own "Socialist" Government in the Uk have let the financial institutions have their way and not interfered.
We are all paying the price.Literally.
To be fair,Clinton did nothing on his watch either.
