While I agree that they ARE a awesome bunch, why would anyone (besides zipcodes) wanna change their in game ID?
Yours Truly,
Bon
I mean, Ben Afleck!
No wait!! I meant Tom Cruise, yeah thats it!, I'm Tom Cruise, and I once had an affair with Morgan Fairchild, yeah thats the ticket.

-
Do you lose perks?
I wouldn't doubt that, I do believe the word"ramifications" were used in the introduction.
Yours Truly,
Tom Cruise
-
Didn't see that, sorry. :D
-
Looks like it's got the same rules it used to have, except now it's automated so HTC doesn't have to do it manually.
-
Now I'm gonna chage it to Bosco :)
-
Hmm...most people still call me Spikes from way back, guess I'll have to go a-perk-burnin.

Aces High II Game News
You may now change you game ID from within the game! In order to do so, you must be online and connected to any of our online arenas to proceed.
1) From the tower, bring up the clip board and select the "O'Club" option.
2) Then select the "Change Game ID" option. Type in the game ID you want to change to. If the game ID is available, a warning box will pop up notifying you of the ramifications of changing your game ID.
3) If the game is already taken, a warning box indicating as such, will pop up.
Please note, the following conditions.
If you are muted or have lost your chat/voice priveleges, then you will not be able to change your game ID.
You can only change your game ID once every thirty days.
udos to the top pilots of Tour 103. Early, Mid, and Late War Tour 104 has now begun.
Let the confusion begin...

For those that fail Hitech first intelligence test, picking a name, it's a blessing. For those unfortunate to NOT have integrity and fortitude it's also a blessing. I hope the perk system comes through. :pray
-
Yeah I wish HiTech would have specified weather or not you lose your perks, so please HiTech or someone else like Pyro or Skuzzy let us know. :pray
-
message Say's you will lose perks and squad affiliations if you change your name!
tried it this afternoon, same as if you call and have HTC do it for you
so i,ll be WWhiskey for a while longer, instead of Whiskey. i might change it after the new download tho?
depends on how the tiger and new t-34/85 is perked, and compares, only other thing i like, that's perked is the 262/163, and i don't get too fly 163 much anymore anyway, at least not on the big maps. sure do miss the little rocket ship that could! :salute
thanks again to HTC for the chance to change, and looking forward to the new stuff :D :D hope to try that new tank out soon! :salute
-
So does mean the .changegameid (I think thats the dot comand) will work then?
-
Not only lose perks, but squad affiliation as well?
Thanks in advance.

Yes Rox.
-
Wow...what type of player would benifit from that new option then?
I'd much rather have the ignore feature on the forums back.

Well, it takes a load off the HTC team with emails about wanting a name change. You lose all your perks and squad affiliations anyway, basically you just don't have to email them anymore.
-
See now but that is really the only question no? We could always change the game ID I thought....... :(
Do you lose perks?
-
LLogann, you could, but you had to contact HTC to do it. The option to before was simply to change basically the casing. Instead of MstWntd I could have had mStWntD or MSTWNTD. All you could do really.

I will never change my game id..... But I have changed the casing... And being the Donkey's rear that I am, just figured you could with all the "loss of perks" stories that float. Just do it yourself kind of and if you wrote HTC you could keep your perks.... You know how those rumors fly around!
-
I didn't bother reading the other topics about the same thing, I wonder if changing the casing of your name still counts as just that and not a complete name change.
-
I'd assume the casing would still be the same as before.
-
might as well just assign everyone numbers.
-

Changing just the case of letters in the game id does not count as a complete name change. You'll still retain your perkies and squad affiliation if that's all you change. But be warned, if you only thought you were changing case and entered a typo instead it would count as a complete game id change. Luckily, the game prompts you before making the actual change so you can catch yourself.

SudZ,
Will one retain perkies and squad affiliation if it is a change? Squaddies are asking me questions like mad.
-
Whoohoo... Finally! I can change my name to 635524!
-

Nope, sorry Rattfink. If you change your game ID (unless it's just the case of the letters in the ID) you'll loose the perks and squad affiliation. In addition, if you are the squad leader squad will be disbanded.
You will have a chance to confirm the change before you commit if you're unsure. The message will tell you what will happen.
Of course, anything that happens in relation to your squad is easily fixed. Just ask for an invite or reform the squad under a new leader. For the perkies you might consider a perk point binge some Saturday to get the most of them before you change ids.

I don't think I could burn my 24,000 perk points even if I had the whole weekend :uhoh

:rofl
It took me a full tour to burn my 4000 fighter perks before my ID change. 24,000 would enable me to fly 262's exclusively for the rest of the year ;)
-
24000? I could have that burned up in a weekend with my skills.
-
nice one . got back my very OLD id again
old id gr8sh0t - new id Save
-
Think u loose perks and squad :huh "game id changed to rattfunk " :P
