Title: New Plane Wish List for Events
Post by: Hajo on September 09, 2008, 08:09:22 PM
Gents!

I know we each have our favorites.  We all wish we could add some uber planes etc.  But for those of us who appreciate Scenarios and other special events they could be more realistic if certain planes were added that would not be used in the Late War arenas much.

Now....speaking for those of us who really look forward to Scenarios we would probably like some early war models added to increase the immersion of our events.  The MA has enough aircraft at this time to suit everyone but a few.

Since WWII took place between 1939-1945 there is a gaping hole for events that I would certainly love to be filled.

He111
Ju52
Do17

LaGG-3
I-15
I-16
Yak-1

F2A Buffalo
CA-12 Boomerang

Macchi M.C.200 Saetta

Ki-27
Ki-43

I know I know won't be used much    but it really makes scenarios more realistic with these aircraft being available.
Our events would not be limited to substituting aircraft and make them more enjoyable.

It's just a wish  ;)

I would add an early war or mid war Japanese bomber to that, probably the Betty.  Ditto the Russians.

Did the CA-12 actually see combat?

Fencer in answer to your question   the models went from CA-12 to CA-19.

In a book by Bill Gunston  "the first of 105 CA-12s were fighting in New Guinea."

95 CA-13s 49CA-19s as well as a CA-14 with turbocharged engine and square tail.

I have a Book by Gunston (how reliable I can't say for sure) with a picture of a formation of Boomerangs of No. 5 Squadron operating from Bougainville.

First delivery August 1942 final delivery early 1944.

Fencer agreed......Betty great addition sorely needed also for events.
