while in a 109 have to result in a radiator hit or loss of engine :furious
this is ridiculous, there is no way this plane was that weak.
i mean i get hit by a p51b in a snap shot and boom there goes my engine. no other plane has this problem.
its just crazy that over and over tonight no matter how i get hit, pinged or lucky shot my engine or radiator get drilled lasting 1 minute then boom there goes my engine.
please make them a little sturdier :pray

A 109's Radiator is in the wing. Easier for it to get hit. :rolleyes:
not much you can do about it sadly, except give them as few deflection shots as possible.

i know but i mean the a6m isnt even as weak at the 109. It seems as though a plane like the 109k (late model plane) would hold up a little better in combat. Especially being a furball fighter interceptor.

The hood over the engine wasn't that strong i think it was like 3mm thick. a6m5 or a6m2 witch one are you talking about because the a6m5 was made to take hint the a6m2 wasn't.

The damage model raises questions for me sometimes. Last night flying the seafire, I lost my eng oil one from gun fire (only damage sustained) and once from ramming ju88's. How colliding with another plane results in just engine oil damage is beyond me.

The 109 has two radiators on the wings, but the game models them as one. The real 109 had an emergency shut off so that you could fly home on one with reduced power.
Btw, :salute violater, you taught me a lesson the other night when I didn't assume I was against an expert.

WE all have bad nights, when it seems that our plane is made out of cardboard.If i posted a thread to complain every time about my plane getting pinged by a few 50 Cal's and i went dowen in a blaze i would be a gold member by now.

Shouldnt this be modeled?
I mean HTC has done a fantastic Job with Aircraft Modeling in this game... By Far the most realistic Compared to other games. But If you're going Model the radiators in the wings at least model them as two.
I mean if one were to get hit you'd still have the other but would need to throttle back in order the avoid blowing out the engine.
Just saying.... :confused:

I've heard it also had the ability to squirt gas on the canopy to clear the windscreen if the oil was hit! :D I don't know of any primary sources for that, though.

For the same reason any ping on a p40 results in flap loss and a PW in a Ki84, etc. It really depends on the placement of the magnets

The Bf.109 has always taken a beating for me. It's no Jug but it'll shove off a lucky snapshot.

Really well I dont know, last night just really frustrated me. I mean once or twice thats fine. But every sortie I flew resulted in a radiator or engine hit. Every single one, so you could imagine me lol. And no other damage showed. it was just those two inperticular. So i dont know if it was a bug or Hiteck just hated me that night or what lol.

It true they hate stop flying the 109s fly the 190. :lol

The simplest solution: 1. Don't give your enemy the satisfaction of being on your six. 2. Don't give the opponent the opportunity for the shot -- be on his six instead. :noid :salute

yeah but you can only be on so many peoples 6s at 1 time. your forgetting about the other 6 people tryin to kill me.
but im just sayin it doesn't make any since that getting strafed by a p51 a couple of times always results in a oil or radiator hit. no other plane constantly does this getting hit once or twice.
