Title: Please change damage modeling for structures
Post by: Frost on November 04, 2001, 07:34:00 PM
Please change it so that the person doing the most damage (like in planes) gets the "kill" for buildings.  It is very frustrating to unload ordinance on a structure, be coming back around to finish and someone strafes it with .50s and gets the credit.  There seem to be a number of people who watch and wait until the structure is soft and then rush in to put the last couple of bullets into it in order to get the credit for the "kill."  It is especially annoying if you sacrifice all your ammo in a fighter in an attempt to take down a structure when no one has bombs and the last bullet that hits it from someone else gets it.

I think in the read-me it infers that even if you don't see the message "Town destroyed" that you get credit for the damage you have caused (and thus points).

I haven't seen anything in the read-me file about this.  I'm not talking specifically about towns, this includes hangars, bunkers, fuel...  The person who puts the last bullet into a structure gets the credit regardless of how much damage someone else has done.

So no one else has ever been frustrated by the fact that you can drop 99% of the ordinance needed to destroy a structure and someone else can come by and get the "kill" by putting the last bullet into the building?
