Title: Ross Kemp in Afghanistan
Post by: Furball on September 11, 2008, 12:03:56 PM
You yanks may not have seen this, was a series run by Sky over here.  Absolutely brilliant, really recommend it.  On one of the episodes one of the squaddies is bombed by a US F-15, the attitude of the soldiers is in stark contrast to the British press.  They are obviously hit hard by it, but the way they see it, without the air support a lot more of them would be dead - it is war and accidents happen.

Ross Kemp is an actor who plays kinda tough guy characters.

Episode 1 starts here: -

Ross Kemp is what might be termed as a 'sham-rock'. And I don't mean he is lucky.

To be honest, I don't think the soldiers wanted him there. There's one scene, near the end of the series, where you can tell that not one of them would speak to him unless they had to.

It was a good series though overall, though. I'm trying to think of another one I saw that was also as good - may have been Panorama on the BBC.

Saw that, gotta give him kudos for actually going out with em on patrol - gotta admit I did giggle when he was on the rooftop......(I'm exforces, so have a callous sense of humour at times)
