Title: Skin: Spitfire Mark IXc - 403 RCAF 'Screwball' Beurling
Post by: jocko- on September 11, 2008, 07:53:18 PM
Just finishing up the Mk IX template, first skin will be this one:

Just have to finish the rivets, and there's a couple more details to add and then she'll be done.  I think I'm going to darken the unused cannon stubs, the game's lighting engine really makes 'em look like a couple of whiteheads...

Looks nice.

Over Malta Beurling shot down a Bf109 at over 800 yards range with a short burst from his Spitfire Mk V's cannons.

That's why everybody else works in native 1024x1024.

Resizing downwards doesn't work very well. This is pixel-based graphics editing, and it's really best to just work in the resolution it will be exported.

Yeah, what Krusty said, I don't think it's worth the time and effort to work at a higher resolution if you are only going to lose all the detail after resizing.

Just about done, found a few errors while working through the rivet layers.  Went with a simpler rivet style this time compared to the Mk Vs I did, gives a good overall worn look I think.  Went slightly 'bluer' on the Ocean Grey as this is a later war aircraft.  Still a few things to add/clean up.  Markings from 412 RCAF this time.  Almost finished.
