Having Galveston as a top news story brought the song to mind; I couldn’t remember much about it so I YouTubed it.  Holy Cow!  I think this is the original music video (1969):

Wasn't he also a favorite of the Smother Brothers shows?   

I always enjoyed his songwriting.

Glen Campbell wrote A LOT more than his "cover".   Campbell also met Webb prior to Galveston in the studio and and told Webb to "get a haircut".

Note:Outside of the few here with an appreciation for classical music
 Not many realize this is only  the final 3:00 of a much longer piece.
Though those that do not Im sure would recognize other parts from it
