You hear the word a lot in political speeches. The vision of equality has been a recurring theme over the years. No one liberal or conservative desires to mandate inequality. Neither one would desire to mandate forced expenditures on arms and military defense when so much of that money could do great good here at home in medicine (for instance). It doesnt surprise me when young people buy into the lefts 'vision' but it does surprise me that so many young people bright enough to make it into college dont have the ability to see the problem with that 'vision.' Reality in the world is quite different from the way the left perceives it. I have to believe it is experience that these youngsters lack that allows them to be fooled so easily. We live in a painful world and it is so easy to experience reality outside of the nurturing home or college and so easy to ignore inside those environments. It is this environment that creates a state of perpetual immaturity so obvious in our hollywood elite our federal judiciary and yes even our politicians. Surrounded by like minded people and within entrenched cliques it is easy for these individuals to refuse to grow up.
In the OC I can pick out those that are mature and have experienced pain and suffering as they matured in life. It is also easy to pick out the ones that have never matured. I will allow each of you to determine for yourself who fits in what category. I stated that because I want you all to be aware of things some of you seem to have forgotten or never experienced for yourself. This will be obvious in a moment.
Our politicians are moving in a dangerous direction and taking our country with it. This has been ongoing for nearly a century and none of the mature ones will deny it having seen it coming. The immature ones... well... they will deny it exists of course because they are sheltered by their environments and by their government that nurtures their every need.
The left you see is moving toward civil discussion because in the sheltered world they have created for themselves (largely conceptual) talking to the opposition produces results (especially if you enforce political correctness). So it is that they will move toward talking to opposing nations to 'work things out.' I think we can all see the beauty of this approach. It will save us billions in military expenses. However the mature ones here can already see where this is going. While the left sees this as change the conservatives know this is history repeating itself. You see this was tried back in the thirties and it cost the world the largest and most expensive war in history. Reagan had it right when he out spent the Reds. Now our policies of appeasement have encouraged Putin to rekindle the old ways. Now we have a new race for the White House and the 'vision of change' which has been tried before and is nothing new.
Pray history does not repeat itself or the immature amongst us will be the ones that pay the ultimate price.

That's pretty funny. The last president that ran on a platform of "vision" and "change" was one John F. Kennedy. This was the same guy who told the reds to go F themselves, stood up to Nikita Kruschev, and put a man on the moon in under a decade. I know, horrible that Kennedy liked to get poon from outside his marriage....which is really the major issue you'll throw back, like it means a thing. As usual, your shivering fear of change blocks out your rational thought processes. Your love of Reagan, is astonishing in its simplicity, yet fraught with cracks. Adjusted for inflation, he ran one of the highest deficits in history, as a fiscal conservative. Whilst I do not wholly disagree with his policy towards the then Soviet Union, I do realize that application of said policy to the extremes he took it, DID damage the country on other levels. Infrastructure, Education and Economy (other than DoD contractors) all ended up worse. I find it very interesting that the party in power for the 10 years leading up to the last great stock market crash... 1929.... was ALL republican. Fast forward to now and it only took 8 years or so of de-regulation to put us in this bind again.
As well, your portrayal of 1930's politics is fraught with cracks. Roosevelt, a democrat, advocated entrance into WW2 from the start of hostilities in Europe. The republicans of the era, advocated isolationism, which was the major ideology of the United States, following WW1.
Interesting quote, from Roosevelt, on the depression of his time, that dam well could be applied to our current issues, economically. :
“ Primarily this is because rulers of the exchange of mankind's goods have failed through their own stubbornness and their own incompetence, have admitted their failure, and have abdicated. Practices of the unscrupulous money changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men. True they have tried, but their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition. Faced by failure of credit they have proposed only the lending of more money. Stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored confidence....The money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths. The measure of the restoration lies in the extent to which we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit. ” -FDR

The same Roosevelt that ignored the threat of Japan until they had killed 1500 Americans?
Roosevelt wanted to help mother Russia.

Roosevelt hated Stalin... his memoirs speak directly to that fact. Only a complete ignoramous would venture such a rediculous point. You really need to base your ideology in reality at some point.
I would venture that the only thing you may have is that Roosevelt may have indirectly ignored the signs of Japanese aggression in order to turn public favor in his direction, when it happened. There isn't much to support it, only circumstantial evidence, but at the time isolationist ideology versed via the republican side, was overwhelmingly adhered to and was winning the debate on entrance into WW2.
Typical revisionist history you are applying here.

Roosevelt denied communists were in our Government too.
Just wait until the messiah is in office and the monkey poop hits the fan...

I thought he died in office.

Thats just it isnt it? The ones that havent grown up yet always resort to insult first.
What is so apparent about the lack of genuine discourse amongst liberals is their inability to think logically. They shout and gesture demanding 'truth' that the 'truth be heard' and 'truth get out' but the minute it does they deny it and attack the one carrying the message.
Roosevelt was not a great President. He may have succeeded in some small part but success didnt make him right and the success he saw wasnt in his doing but in the doing of his countrymen. You see Moray only part of the truth. Truth is not always a matter of good or evil but truth is always a matter of both good AND evil.
I dare to say it because I see truth in it. There has never been a great Democrat President and I dare think there never will be. Not with liberals in the party.

True.... perhaps better put, the "writings he had, whilst in office".
Semantics, in either case.

Actually, that's wrong. Roosevelt didn't care that there were Communists in our government. He didn't handpick them because they were communists, but he really didn't care that they were literally Soviet Agents.
Roosevelt hated Stalin... his memoirs speak directly to that fact.
Of course Roosevelt hated Stalin. He was a fascist, much like Wilson, Mussolini and Hitler. And before you say something, because I know you will, Fascists hate Communists (and vice versa) not because they are at opposite sides of the politican spectrum. They hate them because they are fighting for the same idealists, the "Progressive Liberal."
Our politicians are moving in a dangerous direction and taking our country with it. This has been ongoing for nearly a century and none of the mature ones will deny it having seen it coming. The immature ones... well... they will deny it exists of course because they are sheltered by their environments and by their government that nurtures their every need.
Our country has gone to the brink of complete collapse at the hands of the Fascists I described above roughly 3 times. But you have the descriptions of the people wrong. The immature people will not deny it, they will lead it. They will be ignorant of the consequences of what they are doing, and especially ignorant of what the same actions they are repeating have done both here in the United States and abroad.
The mature people will see the pattern repeating. They will do everything they can to stop it, but will not commit enough until they realize that the worst possible thing to happen, has. It doesn't happen everytime, but the odds are decent for it each time.
And then theres the rest of the people. These people have no idea what's going on, and don't really care. It probably won't matter anyway, They'll make it out the other side relatively unscathed.
