Title says all really. It's cool to see videos with rockets in use, they do some serious damage! It'd be cool if we could get some similer effects in AH when you hit a hanger... :P

Try saddling up behind a bomber in this game like that footage & you wont last long.

You know what I find interesting about that and all of the other gun cam footage I've seen as compared to AH...
You never see a 17 or 24 lose a wing or a tail. Granted, all kinds of stuff falls off, and engines catch fire but they never lose entire control surfaces.

There's a picture in a book I have of a B-17 that was hit by 88mm flak. It looks like the entire fuselage is missing behind the wings, but it's true that I haven't seen that happen from cannon fire.
As for attacking bombers from the 6 o'clock position, WW2 bomber gunners couldn't aim all their guns together by pressing the 'n' key. :P

That is an exceptionally good question. For that matter, what is so cool about anything shooting any plane down in real life?

Thats funny according to that video them bombers can take alot of damage before they go down My bomber gets 1 .50 cal round and my tail comes off or im lit like a flare. HTC needs to watch that vid and redo the damage model for bombers.IMHO

Luftwaffe tests showed that 2-3 30mm shell hits were all it took (usually) to bring down a B-17. You really want to make bomber damage realistic? :t

Good pic lyric1. Against bombers I thought the Mk108 was nerfed in WB and I think the same of AH.

Actually, IMO, it is not "cool" to watch anybody being shot at -what ever their nationality. Somehow crudely interesting maybe but never "cool".

I'm convinced that film is a B17 being 'finished' after it had gotten separated from the formation. You can see the ball turret guns pointing down, which allow the ball turret gunner to leave the ball or perhaps the motors that rotate the turret were out of action.
Either way, that B17 was crippled before that pass and I cannot imagine having to live through the carnage of what the men inside it had to experience.

P.S: You never see the Buff shooting back at the plane with the gun cam on. Why is this ?

did it occur to you how poor the gunner % was back then? IIRC, it was only like 4 or 5%, and in AHII, it's usually like 15-20% so I think HTC has it right.

Yup, it's important to remember that military personnel and civilians alike all suffered unspeakable horrors regardless of the nation to which they belonged.

I wouldn't describe that video as cool. Interesting, but it is sad to see so many people being killed. There is an absolutely sickening cockpit shot at around 2:00 on a Liberator.
