i went to Mervin's and kolas today to buy a couple new pairs of Levis...
Saw that almost every pair was torn and worn looking because apparently, The "Style" today is tight but saggy with fake stitching's and tears, and knee holes.
etc....
Just want a regular pair of relaxed fit Levis is that too much to ask
kool paints iv made
down here in California its almost impossible to find a nice pair of black quarteroys not during fall.
I mangaged to keep a black pair in decent condition since last fall and still looking nice, in fact better because i gave them something i like to call "royburns". Get them in the sun A LOT and they get a faded goldish coffee brown color on them with the black still looking strong.

Tell me about it. The style out here is so tight a guy has to castrate himself to fit in them. Ive had to give up buying new pants until that fades away...

I remember when "shotgun" jeans were the fashion rage. They actually fired shotguns at the pants for random tears and marked the jeans up 300%.
I'm still wearing 13MWZ Wranglers. 30 years and they ain't failed me yet.

Oh, that creepy little 'girl pants' stage.... Man, I just wear shorts from now on. Even when it's cold.

Something is wrong when you have to buy cheap no-name jeans in order to get a pair that fits, is in good (not destroyed on purpose by the factory) condition and of high textile quality.
Expencive = lousy quality
Dirt Cheap = last you a life time
:huh

Man, ya just gotta know where to buy!! And believe me, cheap stuff never fits the same as the more expensive stuff, and never lasts near as long... To say otherwise is to proclaim ignorance.... :D
Get a pair of jeans from American Eagle that you pay $40-$50 for, and they'll last for years.... Get a pair from Walmart or something similar, the buttons fall off in several months, the pockets get holes, seams unravel, they fade much quicker... Need I say more??

Whenever i find brand jeans that looks good and fits well i buy em. Last year i bought 10 pairs of Jean Paul jeans just cause i found some i like. They cost me about 200$ a pair but they were worth it. Unless i go fat i now have jeans for the next decade or so lol.
Levi's jeans are just crap though. The Levi's we get here are better than the jeans you get in America but they are still too fashion oriented and they change the cut too often. The 501 is pretty much the same as they always were though i guess.

Did I read this right? You paid $2,000 for jeans? American dollars? That's insane!
:O

Not bad for 10 quality pairs really. Also take into account that back then the dollar was worth more so lets say 1500$ at the time.
-
$30 - $40 a pair for Carharts. Can't get any better than that. Hell, we work on aircraft and mine generally last 4 - 5 years a set.
-
Yeah but do they make your bellybutton look good? That is actually very important. Ask my missus :D
-
I have good luck with real Levis they seem to last for me, the Levis from walmart or target rip with in 6 months.
And no i wont spend that much on jeans.

you think that's hard?
try finding plain old levis in 31" waist with 36" inseam.
or any pants for that matter. i was looking for grey dress slacks for one of my CAP dress uniforms. nothing. plenty of 36 waist 31 inseam, but nothing for us tall skinny dudes.
-
What size are you looking for in Levis? We have the good stuff all day long here in Alabama that aren't ripped and nasty looking. Levi's are generally a work jean for me but Carhart is a good one to wear also. The guys out in our fab shop wear them all the time and the resist welding, cutting torch spray, etc... pretty well.

:noid This is turning into Oprah's fashion page. :noid

Amen, RPM! Good ol' Wrangler hasn't failed me, either. Cleaning chemicals, loading docks, production areas; they wear like iron. The last pair I demolished lasted a "mere" eight years.
CAP1, you'll probably have to mail order your pants. I have the same problem of a long inseam and no store carries Wranglers with a 36" inseam. One local shop will custom order them for you, at $40 a piece. So I order 'em from Drysdales (http://www.drysdales.com) at $20 a pop and wait a week or two until they get here. They have Carhart and Levi's, though I'm not sure about their selection. Granted, the fit will vary a little bit from pair to pair. I've never had to send back a pair because the fit was too far off, though.

I buy my jeans at costco "kirkland" brand.
I'm passed the "have to wear name brand pants " stage, and like the relaxed fit of these blue jeans.
$13.00 to $14.00 a pair

Levis are made in Mexico.

Diamond Gussett are (believe it or not) made in the United States of America
Regular fit, no nonsense are $40 / pair

I don't ever look at my bellybutton in the mirror, but either my wife is lying and just trying to make me feel better when she says all her girl friends comment on my ass. That and the last concert I went to (Dierks Bentley), I had more chicks grabbing my bellybutton (could have been ghey Keith Urban fans too) that my wife was actually getting pretty pissed.
-
Wrangler 13mwz here and Wrnagler relaxed fit. Buy the relaxed at Wla-Mart...and the 13mwz's at a local boot store.
