Title: Noted defects in 2-13
Post by: Wizer on September 17, 2008, 09:23:26 PM
I have noted 2 defects in the new update (2-13).  The first defect noted occurred when I was on a take off roll at A157 and a truck convoy crossed the runway and crashed me.
The second defect noted involves use of the Auto-film.  Whenever I used it and at the end of flight when making the decision to save it, I get discoed.  After being discoed a couple of times, I turned off the auto-film feature and was no longer discoed at the end of flight.

that film is odd, doesnt it to me. i just have it on because when i dont have it on i get a bunch of good flights, and when i do i get crappy flights. hopefully this doesnt start happening to me. as far as the road convoy goes, i think it has done that for a while now, before the new update.

i too have been discoed when trying to rename the film and have to use the enter key instead of using the mouse. Which is from pushing the h key before sortie has ended for example when in osti or wirble I tend to use pointer for aiming and press h key to lock in place.

I do get messages like it is going to disco me even when I use the mouse to rename and save film but then I get no disco.

Yup, the film Auto-Film feature does this to me too.  I have yet to be fully disco'd because I'm quick enough to get out of that menu, but a squady got kicked because of it.

If you notice, when on that save menu, the entire game comes to a stop behind it.  You don't see that you landed kills, and the animations and text buffer stop moving.  After a few seconds, I lose UDP and it switches to TCP, however if I am fast enough, that doesn't happen.  I blame the fact that it stops the game in the background, not sure what exactly would cause/fix that though.

when you stop the film, or end a flight, a pop up window comes up and you can save it as is "film22" or type in a new name "warping puke" and then hit ok, or if you don't want to save it at all, hit cancel.

I had this when I accidentally drove into a blown up gun emplacement. A tiger came out and started driving around me after he shot out my turret. He got hit by a convoy and I was free to go...until he re-upped...

When I stop the film there's no box coming up, where do I have to enable that option?

Thanks!

Yes you have to enable it. In the options menu look under flight.

I do NOT have auto film enabled on mine. I start rolling film about the time I've decided to engage in a fight ( I've done it this way a long time). This cuts out a lot of needless flying around when watching the playback. Once the fight is done, and I'm in the tower  :D or on those rare occasions that I win a fight,I stop the film and a box pops up for me to edit the name, or not of the film I just recorded.
