Chargers uber alles, if the refs will quit giving the games to the other team.

2x takeaways leading to touchdowns would sink almost any team, and SD nearly won in spite of the dumbarse ref.

Philadelphia has proved they can put a lot of points on the board.

But so far its been against the Horrible St Louis D and now a suspect Cowboys D. It will be a good game but I have to take my Steelers over Philly.

1.  Kansas city  @ Atlanta - Atlanta: KC is starting 2 rookie corners and a new QB. Looks like a new spark for Atlanta @ RB and QB.

2.  Oakland @ Buffalo - Buffalo: Heck they are playing Oakland; need I say anything else?

3.  Tampa Bay  @ Chicago: Chicago - In a close one

4.  Carolina  @ Minnesota - Carolina: by 14 is my call.

5.  Miami  @  New England - New England: Hard to slow down a good team with a decent backup QB starting

6. Cinncy  @ NY GIants - Giants - By a large margin

7.  Houston  @ Tennessee - Tennessee: Veteran QB should pull them through a close one.

8.  Arizona  @ Washington - Washington: I say a 10 point win by the skins.

9.  New Orleans  @ Denver - New Orleans: Just because they are loaded and going up against a porous defense

10. Detroit  @ San Francisco - San Francisco: They are playing Detroit need I say anything more.

11.  St Louis  @ Seattle - St. Louis: Seattle is just hurting right now. They have lost too much too fast so far this season.

12.  Cleveland  @ Baltimore - Cleveland: I am betting that the Browns get rolling on the ground; only because I benched Rudi Johnson for this game in my fantasy league.

13.  Jacksonville  @ Indy - Indy: It's gonna be close but Peyton pulls them through.

14.  Pitt  @ Philly - Philly: A good close game with less than 40 total points scored.

15.  Dallas  @ GreenBay - Dallas: gut says Dallas but with the problems in the secondary for them this could go the other way.

16.  Jets @ Chargers - Chargers: They are due for a win after two close losses.

They played only one week so far. I think its a little it early to go on that statement alone at least against the Titans who beat the Jaguars in week 1 and the Bungles in week 2.

Picking against NE in this game was a good call.
Picking against NE this year against good teams wont be bad calls.
All last year despite their record. NE showed themselves to be beatable dispite their record.
(I predicted last Nov that NE would be the greatest team in SB history to loose the SB  :rock)

Picking against Min, were bad calls. They only barely lost to both GB and Indy.
And only because Jackson doesnt have "it"
Min is a much better team then what they showed in those two games

Now Either Min isnt that bad. Or Indy and GB arent that good. or both. Probobly Both.
I was surprised that nobody here picked up on that

I'd stay away from betting on Min games this year. On any given game they could go either way

Heck I wouldn't mind doing this for a little wager. How about we all toss in a small amount of cash into a paypal account and the winner at the end of the regular season takes it all. Say $10 each and it only goes on number of wins and losses. Tie breaker can be over or under on final regular season game.

I'd prefer to call it on a gentleman's bet Reschke.

Anyway, I think we should have the winner each week start the following  "Week 4, Week 5..etc." threads each week and see how we all do on picking.

You know Mr. Ripsnort, I doubted my Dolphins when I shouldn't have.  You were dead on and I have let everyone know since yesterday.  Especially my boss who is a huge Pats fan.

My kids' 2007 11-0 perfect season football team was 2-0 going in against an opponent that they have easily beat in the past four years. I gave my son that speech about "any given Sunday" and I was afraid that the attitude of the team was that they could walk right into the stadium and beat up this opponent.  Well, they lost. They underestimated the team that they'd beat in the past, and the opponent took it to them.

I really thought Miami had enough weapons to catch an unguarded NE team with its proverbial pants down, and they did.  Doubt I'll call another upset like this all season, but the call was based on the timing of my son's team loss to an inferior football team. :)

Every once in a while a bad team with decent players can catch a good team just looking at past history and records. It happens in every sport at every age group and a lot of times it happens every year.

A couple of quotes come to mind in that situation for me.

"You play like you practice." -- No idea on where it came from originally.

"You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four." -- Dan Birdwell

Whether it is the NFL or little league ball teams can't be judged on injuries and how well they played against someone else. You have to know a little bit about the teams in order to get it right.
