I would love to see how everyone is putting the new wide screen capability to bear. below is a copy of my post for one of the other sections of the board.

FPS is set to Vsync and is always pegged at 60. WHen I turn off Vsync I get tearing when I turn my head using Track IR. With Sync on everything is glassy smooth. I run the HiRes pack at ~6000x1200 with everyhting maxed out.

The secret is in the SoftTH program. You can run the actual color depth and resolution of the two side monitors much lower resolution and color depth (think 800x600 at 16 bit), but because the conversion happens between AHII and the Nvidia driver, there is almost no loss in picture quality. Because the software uses only one card to do the rendering and mine happens to have three outputs (2DVI and one HDMI) I run all of this off a sing 9800 GX2. I highly reccomend using three monitors that are the same size and pixel count!!!! The reason mine does not look as good as it could is because I have a 25.5" in between two 20"ers.

HTC guys, if you want to see it in person, I'm just down the road in Midlothian TX.

Here is the site for the free software:

Latrobe... It cost a heck of a lot less than a real plane....

Actually, if I were to put one together for someone..

3 monitors at $229.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001270 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001270)
1 Nvidia 9800GX2 at $279.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130338 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130338)
1 PC with a Quad core CPU for $1,574.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227085 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227085)
Track IR $120+$40 for the proclip http://www.gogamer.com/TrackIR-4--Pro-Premium-Optical-Head-Tracker-PC-Accessories_stcVVproductId5589599VVcatId444848VVviewprod.htm (http://www.gogamer.com/TrackIR-4--Pro-Premium-Optical-Head-Tracker-PC-Accessories_stcVVproductId5589599VVcatId444848VVviewprod.htm)
X52 controller $115.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102507 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102507)
Pro Pedals $130 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102003 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102003)

And figure another 100 Bucks for cables.

So right around $3000, but you got figure, everyone playing alrady has a PC and controllers so all we are talking for most people is a video card monitors and cables.

If have a system capable of PCIE with a good CPU you can get here for under 1K.

Well I'm one of the few people who actually has a good video card for the game  :) . Everything at highest settings and I get about 40-50 FR/S. So, I guess I just have to worry about the monitors and and cables....oh and I need some pedals and Track IR.  :D Though everyone in my family knows I'm a Cartoon Pilot Dweeb, so I may get one or both of those for my B-Day.

Rockdog if it's not to much bother any chance you could do a screen shot rear & rear right in the new F6.

Would be appreciated....cheers.

That's it... I'm getting two more monitors...

Rocky,

Will I have to use two vid. cards?  I have a computer I am using/buying from a friend and it has a 9800 with two VGA ports on it, I also have a HUGE 9800GXT2 BFG card (BOX lol!) with two ports.

Or can I just buy the Triple Head deal HTC is advertising on the HTC homepage?

On another note, I am up and running since after IKE and will be able to help you with your site.  How is today, Thursday & Sunday sound?

The X52? A good buy. People say they've had their fair share of problems, but I haven't had one, not even a small one.

I used to have that exact same corner desk. It even had a window behind it in the same place. That picture confused me for a minute or two, I thought is was one of my old ones...lol

As for the stick, I really like it. The main weaness is the jumper cable that goes between the throttle and the stick. Its connector is similar to an svideo cable and gets loose after being bumped or moved too many times. I have a few crashes result from the cable falling out (one in a 262!) If they had a made it with a screw in or clip in connector it would be darn near perfect.

I would pend the extram money and buy the pro version if I had to do it again. After may years of using CH products, I'm a happy convert. My CH gear has now found a home in my cockpit I built for flight training, and the Saitek gear is what I rely on for combat.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I got the X-52 this weekend.  BestBuy had the regular one and not the pro, so that's what I got.  That and a new headset/mic.  We'll see how much b-day money comes rolling in for rudder pedals.
