Title: trying to up c47s
Post by: brule2 on September 20, 2008, 12:59:10 PM
Well heres a good one,i cannot up c47 on auto pilot and on manuel i need a hill to get speed up,i have recalibrated stick and throttle many times. The elevator is stuck on up when i attempt a auto takeoff i lower them when i take it off auto.My key mapping and my stick mapping have nothing mapped for brakes i use rudder pedals for that and have taken them off to see if it helps but it doesn,t,all other planes work fine except me 262 same problem there, though with the amount of perks i usually have, not a major problem.
Wondering if there is a bug i have microsoft sidewinder 3d pro for stick and saitek rudder pedals.everything worked great until about a month ago and  now this problem.any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you checked that your throttle is set to throttle 1?  Someone else suggested this a while ago.

Have you checked to see if your brakes are reversed? you might have your brakes on full when you the pedal is released and none when the brakes are applied. It's easy to check, just apply brakes before you roll, if you problem is solved just reverse the axis. :aok  I had a similar problem in another game, I was slow to take off and when I landed I always ended up overshooting if I touched the brake pedal (Why that game does not have differential braking escapes me!)... I figured it out after a short while. :D

I had the same problem with the 38 a couple years back.  shift + 1 fixed it for me.

I think shift+e selects all engines.  :aok

Sorry to bump this topic, but I had been having a similar problem, and I saw a post on this topic in the Help & Training forum which got me thinking about it again.

Here's what I recommend you try:

Go into your main Aces High folder, and open up the folder there called "settings".

In that folder, look for a file which has the name of whatever joystick you use.  I use the X-52, and for me the file's called "saitekx52flightcontroller".  Move that file to some other folder (you might as well use the desktop so that it's easy to find), and when you have done so, make sure that it is no longer in your settings folder.

Make sure your joystick's plugged in, and start up Aces High.  Try looking at your controller settings to make sure that your throttle, RPM,elevator, and aileron controls etc are all mapped correctly, then try and fly a plane.

If this doesn't work, you might want to try reinstalling Aces High, testing it with a mouse, or testing your joystick with another game.

Hope this helps,

I've recently had a few heavys, Lancasters I believe, that didn't seem to accelerate the way I thought they should. Cycling the engine on / off resolved the issue and I accelerated nicely after that. I never explored what was wrong though.

Fication from clara, Shift e starts or stops all engines, Ctrl e selects all engines.

I've had a similar problem with my rudder pedals (I think). Randomly when I take off it seems like the brakes are on constantly, and the easy fix seems to be applying the brakes fully then releasing. I've never had it continue after that, almost as if the pedals were stuck on.
