Are you kidding me? Here is the list of this year's nominees......
Run-D.M.C.
Metallica
the Stooges
Jeff Beck
Wanda Jackson
Little Anthony and the Imperials
War
Bobby Womack
Chic
It's becoming a joke. No Stevie Ray Vaughan. No Rush.
-
Run D.M.C./ WTF :huh
Those idiots are even rock :rock
-
Becoming a joke? I think we reached that point when Madonna was inducted.
-
Wanda Jackson is pretty cool though. She was the original bad girl. Fujiyama Mama (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7OFM0lupLk&feature=related)
-
hmm guessing your no metallica fan :rofl that list looks pretty shabby, think its time to take a few years off :salute
-
Thats pretty sad, especailly if they dont include SRV. That man is a legend at the guitar!
-
Becoming a joke? I think we reached that point when Madonna was inducted.
yep
-
dont 4 get motley crue = )

-
What no Britney? No Ashley Simpson? The world is so unjust.
Isn't SRV already in HOF?
-
SRV is NOT in yet.
BUT, even worse you have these not in yet.
Yes
Deep Purple
and Rush
Rush deserves to be in because not only are they making relevant music and constatly evolving. They (going on memory) have to have the longest running unchanged lineup in Rock n Roll history. 34 years and counting. Only band that can get close to this, is U2.
Yes deserves to be in, because to took the vehicle set forth by Pink Floyd and drove faster and further than PF were willing to go. They inspired many bands in their wake.
Deep Purple deserves to be in because of not only Machine Head, but they evolved acquiring the pieces slowly. Fireball was a great album, though hated by many. But the riffs Blackmore created are some of the most well known in History.
SRV would be 4th on my list. Nothing against him at all, he's a Legend. But, there are a couple that were making music before he was.
Alex Lifeson embraces the "Snubbing": "It doesn't matter at all," Lifeson says. "If we were inducted it would mean we'd probably have to go up there (to Cleveland) and play there."

im waiting for RHCP.
-
Unbelievable! No Deep Purple? No Rush or Yes? Yep its definatly the hall of shame.
The first music I ever bought was Deep Purple 'Machine Head". I bought three 8 tracks; Deep Purple "Machine Head", Rory Gallagher "Irish Tour 74" and Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon"
Ya the way things are going Britney and Ashley Simpson will be in the HOF.
-
the Stooges :rock :rock

... SRV. That man was a legend at the guitar!
agreed and fixed :(
-
CHIC??? :huh
-
yup. Bernard Edwards, Nile Rogers and Omar Hakim: thats a whole bunch of talent there :aok
o yeah and wth are DMC doing in there when Public Enemy havent been nominated yet :huh
-
Why is DMC or any other hip hop or rap even included?
-
its a very broad definition of rock'n'roll - I'd say the stooges are the only nominees that actually represent the ideals and sound.
-
Punk Rock - Stooges,
Metal - Metallica,
Doo Wop - Little Anthony and the Imperials
Funk - War
I could see in the rock and roll hall of fame.
Wanda Jackson... WANDA JACKSON?????
Wanda Jackson is Country not rock.
Theay must have alot of room if they have to add people that don't belong. Therefore I don't think that the Rock and Roll Hall of fame is even an honor anymore.
-
Ok, after looking a later films of Wanda Jackson... she started out playing like Elvis but later got into Country much like failing rock & pop artists do... *cough*, *cough* JEWEL.
