Title: Scrimmages and more Scrimmages
Post by: Yarbles on September 23, 2008, 08:43:38 AM
This is a repeat of Scrianmages and more Scriamages and I am sick of looking at my rubbish spelling.

Anyway so far Precision(+) has taken on "Drunken Monkeys", "Pigs on The Wing" and "The Few" and we definately won one of them. :rock.
Tonight we face "The 71st RAF Eagle Sgn" and then it will be the 613th probably this firday or next. We are also aiming to put "Raw Prawns" and "Aces and 8's" on the calender.

Pm me or post on here if you can raise 5 or more to take us on.

The rules are:

Rules edited for Clarity (all takes place in the DA)

Rule 1 / Altitude is 10 thousand feet maximum throughout the event . Rule 2 / The first merge is a cold merge but after that beware. This is supposed to be a dogfight but we dont want to start argueing about angles so if your Hoed its your own fault after the first merge.
Rule 3 / Start with an equal No. of pilots each side with one life per frame. (Once the issue is decided/clear see additional rule b)
Rule 4 / There are 3 Frames maximum:

Frame 1: Rules above apply you all fly whatever you like as long as its not perked in the game. The winning side is the one left flying at the end of each of 3 legs. This is a best of 3 legs to decide the frame.

Frame 2: The "Challenged" (usually our opponents as we issued the challenge) get to choose the plane (we all fly the same) that everyone flies eg Hurri 1 (individuals can decide on the loadout) for the first of 3 legs. We choose in the second Leg (Leg 2) and they in leg 3. Again this is the best of 3 legs.

IF at the end of Frame 2 the Score is one frame each we repeat Frame 1 as the decider.

Additional Rules;

a) The side with most players may initially rotate players so everyone has a go.
b) If it is obvious early on who is the stronger side we can fly for example 10 against five if we have 10 and they only have 5 and they are stronger or if we are stronger lend them some of ours for a good fight.
c) Have fun, dont take it too seriously and no whingeing.
d) If you are extending for more than 2 minutes you are running away which isnt allowed. If a Leg gets too boring we will call it a draw and re run it.

So in Summary up to 3 Frames of up to 3 legs each. Each leg is decided by which side is left flying. If you understand the minimum no. of legs to win the scrimmage is 4 youve got it.

If you want to chalenge us and test yourselves pm me and we will fix up a time. :D

Krusty said these things prove nothing but all the evidence pointed in the same direction :uhoh.

I thouroughly enjoyed myself but some of my squaddies may take a while to recover. It was exactly like fighting "The Few" only maybe more so :cry :rofl :D

Thanks to everyone who turned out and the "71st" really should fight "The Few" next. I would almost pay to see that one. In the the meantime we have the 613th to kook foirward to :rock

Wounds have been licked and tears dried. In other words Precision is back on the scrimmage circuit.

We are fighting a gang of trekkies this Sunday at around 2PM est but then we are free to rise to more challenges. Sunday around 2PM est suits when ESO isnt on.

Waiting to hear from:

Raw Prawns
Aces and 8'S
613th.
And anyone else who thinks their hard enough  :lol

Otherwise we are training for a re match with 71st and the Few so we can kick their far king heads in :devil

Are you going to set up another "playdate" with The Few?
Title: Re: Scrimmages and more Scrimmages

Yep these play dates are fun ,and its really a learning experience , not to mention meeting everybody and just getting into the thick of it is great . Also the question of what side picks what plane is a blast you just don't know what you'll get . Looking forward to more of this myself . Thanks to all participating squads :salute

:uhoh er eventually but after the beating you gave us last time we need to seriously re group. If your hungry for action I am sure the 71st will take you on and I would pay money to see that one :salute

I'm sure it will be extremely enjoyable for both parties,   Have you guys got any preferred days of the week?

I would like to tweak some of the rules to improve upon the initial idea.

Glad your up for it.
Gotta muster a few of the fellas to see when is best, so give us a day or so on that one.
What rules do you want to tweek ?
also do you want to go 50:50 on the gate money
or to the victor the spoils?  (I`m sure we can squeeze a fiver outta Yarbles)

I'd go with 6 to start with then possibly more.

When you guys come up with your preferred day i'll see if we can make it.

The rules  we can discuss via PM.   ;)

I would like to tweak some of the rules to improve upon the initial idea.

I would like to tag along with one side or other on channel. Remain in the tower until the issue is decided i.e. who is king and who is monkey. Then balance the no.s for the fun part when all has been dicided.

When we fought you two we new outcome for sure by the end of round 2 :cry

You dont have to be frightened of a ringer Bruv :lol :lol judgeing by the beating they gave us I wouldnt make the team anyway. I seem to remember we died at about the same rapid pace against each of you so this will be interesting.

apologies yarbles,  we agreed on that un-confirmed time earlier in the thread.

We had a little issue with some random guy coming across to "watch the fight" he didn't interfere but it was a little annoying.  He ended up watching from one of our planes.

All the more reason to have private rooms for subscribing players as suggested by Murdr awhile back.

the score was 2-0, 2-0  (71st chose spit8, we took a spit9)

The first sortie was the closest with it ending up a 2 vs 3 against us,  Ams did very well in his yak against two ponies and I was following Jens's la7 around in my spit, I had no cannon so got as close as I could before sawing his wing off with 303's, Ams dealt with the 2 ponies.

The other rounds we had at least 4 guys alive afterward, the best being 6 in one round,   The numbers were 7vs7 then 8vs8 for the rest of the match.

didnt save any, and tbh the vox was even more random than our formations

I think its fair to say we didnt bring our best game to the fight, and were mercilessly punished for it :aok

edit: the spec guy was a bit distracting, but not as bad as a certain squeeker who kept buzzing through our scrim with Precision in a tempy...

it was a good meet and went down as bruv says..
we where realy loose with out much of a plan or anything, just enjoying a squad outing...
we paid for our relaxed attitude..,..

all in all it was alotta fun
we will keep scrimmaging..

Thanks Bruv, Jimmy and Holmes.

We have started training regularly on Sundays for future scrimmages. Maybe we need to put together an all stars team to beat the few. Best out of all the other squads. Precision have Klingan and er............... :lol

I would like the film Bruv to get a few tips. Looks like I am going to be Precision CO for a few tours with the emphasis on building a kick bellybutton fighter/scrimmage squad. Then I guess we will go back to base taking when we have honed our skills. I must say I have learned allot from "The Few" and "71st" flying with you and loitering around your forums :salute

I went for your hog in the first round manny, bit of a target fix, knew you would be a problem if you weren't dealt with quickly.   your plane soaked up quite a bit of my ammo!

I was like DIE DIE DIE  :)

Best of luck with that Yarbles, it will take time, patience and much practice.  The game I learnt to fly in we had squad fights every saturday evening as a hosted event.  I was lucky enough to fly with the very best there and learn't an awful lot in these types of situations.
