Title: AlienWare Notebooks?
Post by: CptTrips on September 23, 2008, 02:34:43 PM
Anyone have experience with these?

Is the performance worth the price differences?

Thanks in advance,
Wab

Gimme a D.

Gimme an E.

Gimme an L.

Gimme another L.

What does that spell? Alienware.

They make nice stuff... but they seem over priced to me.

You can get some nice ASUS notebooks on Newegg and Tigerdirect and they seem equally equipped and for less $$

When I bought my Gateway from best buy they had a "gamers" laptop that was only a little bit more.  I'm not sure what the specs are but it came bundled with some cool games that I couldn't even play on my home machine.  It was under a grand.  I wouldn't pay the extra for alienware

Yes Alienware is just an overhyped brand with a steep price tag. They make their hardware sound magical in the advertising but in reality you're wasting your money.

I can build an 'alienware' box for anyone with 30-40% less price. In fact I've done that for some people as a favor.
