I use an MS 3D Sidewinder Pro with the 8 way HAT setup. In WB, I am able to use a button to toggle so that the HAT can be switched to use the 'UP' views, then toggled with the same button to go back and use the regular views. It works real well and functionally doubles the views available to me, as if I had a second HAT. Could AH give consideration to adding this capability to the joystick mapping routines?

OK, I managed to get my Sidewinder FF stick to give all 8 level views, plus the up and up 45 vies on all axes.
First thing I needed to do was remove the programming from the hat and Up button from my Sidewinder profile. Then set the hat positions and up view button using the joystick mapper in AH.
At least now I can check that up back/left view when I need it.

Badger,
I have asked for additional stick sets in this and other forums, many times. So far, no comment from HT or Pyro. I've tried all the work-arounds suggested here, but still can't get more than five views from my CH Combatstick. So for me, AH is nearly unplayable. No way can I track enemies or maintain SA. Hoping for stick sets in the next release.

Popeye,
My understanding is, from comunication with HT, that there is a possibility of the inclusion of stick sets. It has not been programmed yet but I personaly beleive we will see them. I don't know if you use a CH Pro throttle with your stick or not, but using that gives me all but the 3/4 views I had in wb using the stick sets. Those views I seldom use and the pan mode allows better viewing for what the 3/4 views did for me in wb. All my views are on my joystick except for external view. I use the pinky button to look straight up and my hats to look forward/up, back/up, left, right, up/left, up/right, forward, and back. I also have used the save view feature to customize my rear views. I find it more than acceptable right now though my ACM and SA techniques are probably not as refined as yours (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).
Hope this helps you.

Hi badger,
i use MS-SW3Dpro (only one coolie-hat)
i set one button to 'UP-VIEW', so when i use the hat without pressing it i have the 'normal' 8 way viewaround and when i hold the 'UPVIEW'-butten i get the 'high' pedant (eg for looking backleftup-position). that works for me. hope thats what you where looking for...

Badger - the capability is there.
Do not[/i] use the MS Profiler for your views. Mapping the NumPad 5 key in the Profiler will cause you a headache since it doesn't work properly.
Instead, use the AH Joystick Mapper and map all eight hat positions now supported to the eight level views. Then map any one of the available eight buttons to the NumPad 5 key. Now you will have full functionality, and in effect have 'two hats'.
The MS Profiler can cause disruptions, so only use it as little as necessary i.e. when a key combination can't be mapped any other way within AH.
Cheers,
