Title: Heatsink-fan for LGA 775 quad-core
Post by: Bino on September 25, 2008, 09:23:29 PM
What is currently the cool heatsink-fan for an LGA 775 quad-core?
Is Zalman's line of all-copper units still well-regarded?

Thanks!  :salute

Yeah, the Zalman's are still pretty good.  They run about $53 before S/H.  If on a budget, the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro is one of the best for the buck.  I think I got an email the other day from Newegg with it being $31 with free shipping IIRC.  It's what I use on my E6400 OC'd mildly to 2.66ghz.  Runs sub 40C in my hot case.  Arctic Silver 5 is also a must have.

I recently installed an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro and dropped my CPU temps about 10 degrees C and the fan never even hits full speed.  It's very quiet because of that.
